i heard these things sucked for flex, might go Cherokee instead cause of availability.

My Discovery doesn't flex quite as much as an XJ, but it also tends to float over things a Jeep would otherwise sink in. A Rover has amazing balance. My discovery is easily as capable as my friends XJ. Skill level I am nowhere near him though...1985 M10b18. 70maybewhpoffury. Over engineered S50b30 murica BBQ swap in progress.

Flex....no, it's articulation.
If you google around, I'm sure you'll find that a stock Rover has a better ramp travel index than, well, any other stock truck. Also, Jeeps are everywhere. I get waves from every Rover in town. I doubt the soccer mom's and high school girls are going to give two shits about another Jeep.

It amazes me that he has has $32k of work done to that thing in the 100 miles and it still looks pretty worn. Love the patina though.Guys guys guys.....

True. Probably $32k in shit that kept breaking, plus labor. Looks like he had a shop do the work, by the description.
I'd daily it though. Badass trucks.1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5Comment

Lol he's using it to tow a race trailer with a lift etc in it. 6.7 cummins mated to a 6sp manual trans. It's pretty badass.1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5Comment

So, been DDing the Rover since the got-dang fender liner flew out of the M3 and I'm waiting on a replacement to get here, along with a metal under belly panel.
...and my M52 OBD1 swap is being a dick. I think it's got some vacuum leaks going on. Misses hardcore when starting out from a stop. It'll also drop idle, like off a cliff, after sitting for more that like a minute idling, like at a long light. Sometimes too, driving, coming to a stop, let off the gas, beginning to brake, it's like it doesn't want to drop gears in the trans. Starts surging, and bucking, and rocking the whole truck. Then when I come to a complete stop, smooth idle.
IDK where to start. I sealed up a vacuum leak at the manifold (brake booster hose nipple in the manifold). I've got a nice leak at the exhaust manifold to deal with next, but I can't see that causing this insane behavior. It's so intermittent, can't tell when it's going to go nuts next, but I can count on 1 of three things happening when I stop at a light.1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5Comment

Check fuel pressure at the rail. These pumps are known to be dumb. I don't know what your M52 wants from the FPR, but the stock Rover V8 is 34-38psi, with a 10psi/minute drop after shutdownComment
