I thought it would be fun to guess what 2mAn sold before visiting his thread and I landed on a pokemon card collection based on the timeframe and obscurity lol

Not upset that I'm wrong though haha.

In other news, I pulled the trigger on some Valcas garage fender bottoms for the silver car, and I'm going to poorly copy them for the clapped out 4dr.
Otherwise I'm just spending far too much money on things other than my e30, and I've had zero time to do anything this summer/fall because everyone and their dog is either getting married or having a baby.

Haha RIGHT? I just got gas after leaving my office (behind the Circle K right there).

I saw your stickers, and I was like... I know that name... holy shit that's Mike... why is he down here?

Thanks! Yeah she's a fun commuter for sure. Hope the bizz is doing well, what's this about living on the road full time?

If I had gone to the Expo I would have hit you up before hand, but too much going on lately. Actually taking the LX up to Sedona next month for my lady and I to get eloped, it may get a few shots of it too.

Funny how so many once-upon a time E30 owners are into Toyota trucks now.

Shit, my brother has a house right there basically. I've been staying with him for a little while now.

Ah, bizz closes down in a couple of weeks. Time for something new. Learned a lot, got a free brand-new truck out of it, but new desires make it too difficult to continue supporting.

Building mobile house on the back of my 2021 TRD Offroad Double Cab Long Bed, the Trail Limo. Alucab Canopy Camper already purchased, pending delivery. Since you're close I'll let you know when it's done so you can check it out. Build is over $80,000 now (truck included obviously), so it'll be a nice setup.

No worries, I was on a very long overlanding trip at that time anyways, so I didn't go to the expo either.

Nice! Congrats man, I see photos of you two on FB every now and then.

Oh yeah. And you were the first E30 guy outside of my group of friends, that I ever met. Can still picture your driveway and that blue hood I bought from you.

Speaking of Toyotas, this is me hanging off of the front bumper of my buddy Chris' 1st gen, 3,000 ft above the earth at the Top of the World outside of Moab, Utah.

I couldn't get him any closer to the edge or I would have.

The fucking DMV grifted me another $175 in taxes on my bike.

It's like the amount was strategically chosen to be not enough money for someone to justify getting the bike appraised over, and as much as I'd like to call their bluff, it's simply not worth half a day of my life to save the maybe $50 difference.

At least I have nice truck content to look at to help me forget, and then off work early today and off Monday for Thanksgiving (Canada)

Totes get that, you live and learn. Awesome truck plans, I'll definitely want to check that out. There's been times I've thought about going from the LX to a truck with a poptop like GFC or other, but I don't currently get out of town enough to make it worth it. Plus, still rather attached to the 100 series. That ability to stand up in the truck bed ala cabana/camper style is something that would be amazing to have though.

Thanks man, yeah time flies doesn't it? Those were the days, yeah the HOA hated me but I could pick up E30s for nothing. I should have just stored the last few I had, now I can't rationalize getting another with this market.

Definitely hit me up once you get the alucab on, or once it's sorted.

Bogus. But, things could be worse. Someone local I know, just got denied warranty claim on his Type R... car wouldn't go into first gear. (There are reports and issues with the transmission, gear grinds when it makes no sense what-so-fucking ever, etc.)

Why denied? Because they found evidence on social media it's modified, Honda Corporate / America is denying the coverage. He has never had an issue before. He's gonna have to send the transmission or car out of state to be worked on by a specialist. Car has NO transmission modifications, just another way Honda corporate is ignoring issues, using anything to get them out of fixing things.

Even when the "fix" cars with these issues it's simply throwing in more transmissions/synchros and not acknowledging there is a problem. Sound familiar? Happened with 9th generation Si's and others. Went to a class action, eventually they did a recall. I have no plans to modify mine aside from cosmetics. New wheels and tires, that's all I've really done - and that's all I will do. I'm keeping that certified-pre-owned certification on it for a reason, if something goes wrong, or I decide to sell some day, I don't wanna be SOL.

I think that's pretty common practice in automotive though.
What's the probability of a lawsuit, the predicted cost of said lawsuit, vs the cost to redesign the part.

Oh it definitely is still common practice, just sucks.

Exactly the formulas will always come into play and the bean counters rule that arena.
