Being a college student my diet is not exactly the best, and I cannot afford any supplements so that side kind of sucks. I have managed to reach my goal of 200lbs though. I currently weigh less than I did in 6/7 grade.

lol dont get me started dude. been going to the gym for four years now, only a couple of other guys besides myself have made any sort of transformation.
The weird thing is, is that the fat girls are the ones in the weight area, and the average and even dangerously underweight/eating disorderish girls do the cardio.
A big part of it is self perception, some people truly think they are in shape when they are clearly overfat, case in point: a guy who is my height and about 260 says he has tried everything and he has accepted its the body he has and he holds his weight well
I dont think its even a thing of "if it was easy everyone would be in shape", but some people just dont understand they have to change their eating habits to that of a normal person and while technically anyone can eat whatever they want and lose weight, its stupid choices that lead to bad results of choosing poor satiety foods, i personally blame the fact that nutritious vitamin/mineral rich whole foods that provide satiety are expensive even if you shop around. Though its apples to oranges, its bullshit that a microwaveable pizza is 1000 for less than a dollar yet a couple of apples that total 160 calories are a dollar :hitler:
Even getting to a reasonable bodyfat is easy is people put forth a little bit of effort, from someone who was about 35% and leanest 7% there isnt too much of a fight getting to mid teens but most people feel like crap when they are very lean and its not sustainable and its unrealistic for those with a job.
If you ever want to rage, check out the myfitnesspal forums, everyone claims they cant lose weight yet have multiple "cheat days" a week

Ha, you are so wrong about that. Less food is never better, eating healthy is the key.
Edit: Let me rephrase that, eating less food to lose weight is not what I need to do. I, personally, need to eat healthier in order to lose weight. If I was scarfing down a shit ton a food I would understand less would be better, but I am not. I've been working at getting down to 200lbs since last year, and I've finally done it. 240 lbs down to less than 200 lbs. I am proud of myself and will continue going to the gym 5-6 days a week and doing my best to eat healthy.Last edited by mbonanni; 05-15-2014, 11:17 AM.

Need to be in a calorie deficit to lose fat, expend more energy than you take in, that is the only thing needed for weight loss. To maximize fat loss, need to meet your dietary protein and dietary fat macronutrient minimums and stimulate lean tissue enough to keep protein synthesis elevated to where amino acids can repair lean tissue enough to stay around.
While eating nutritious food is generally better for health markers such as blood pressure, HDL/LDL/triglyceride levels, etc...if you eat less calories than the body needs for homeostasis you will lose weight/fat since all fat is is stored energy and you can do that by just eating nothing but sugar, though you will feel like shit.

I can eat all the food I please, but as long as I have a calorie deficit I will lose weight.
many people post on forums every day saying they eat healthy and cant lose weight though because they dont understand its all about calories so you have to be specific, so when they say they cant lose weight, you just tell them to eat less and the problem resolves itself always. In general as long as you keep eating less you will eventually lose weight.
Less food does equal less calories because its less calories than you were eating before, but its not saying replace those 3 carrots with 1 big mac because 1 is less than 3, nobody is that dumb.

I started going to gym 7 days a week and i saw results uber fast compared to 5 days a week and i uped my cardio to 2 hours. I'm getting into the sub 10% body fat now and i only have 1 cheat day a month. Barely eat any carbs and i'm starting to hear that carbs are the reason for overweight and high cholestorol, not fat."I wanna see da boat movie"

If all you're eating is crackers, regular pasta and white bread (also known as REFINED GARBAGE), then yeah, those carbs are going to HELP in making you gain weight. Should be eating things like brown rice, fruits/veggies & whole grain breads/pasta. Same goes for fats, fat is not the devil. The USDA fucked everyone's head up in the 50's by telling everyone that fat is what made you fat, and to eat carbs, carbs, carbs. As many as you can get. You need plenty of good fats in your diet to keep your metabolism burning strong and your body to produce lean muscle mass.
7 days a week is also ridiculous in the gym, you need at least one rest day per week, along with plenty of sleep. Muscle growth occurs when you aren't training. And how often are you doing TWO HOURS of cardio? Are you kidding me? If it hasn't already, your body will get so accustomed to cardio that it will completely cease to have any effect on your body or metabolism. How many grams of protein and fats are you taking in each day?

Turkey burger =\= Big mac in terms of calories.
Now if I was stupid and had no knowledge of what to do, youre right telling me to eat less is probably the best thing. However if been at it for over a year and results have faired pretty well with me eating as much as I want but eat I healthier foods when I do that.
I actually had a motto of "Eat more, do more." For awhile. I still dropped weight, and it was the shit.

Yep, you'll get that whole slew of people touting IIFYM (if if fits your macros), but you can't just eat a bunch of shit in the right proportions and have it work anywhere near as well as eating good, REAL food.
MAKE TIME TO COOK GOOD FOOD.
If there's one thing I discovered when I started eating right and losing a ton of weight, it's that I was not only a pretty damn good cook, but cooking a whole week's worth of stuff at once on my day off was the greatest thing ever, because I don't have to worry about what I'm going to eat every day.
