    Own, wouldn't mind or never...an e36. R3V Opinion

    Hey all,

So lately i've been noticing lots of e36 threads on R3V.
I remember lots of hate on R3V towards the e36 in the earlier years
So this begs the question, where does everyone stand on this subject?

    That's why, the poll.

I, myself owned an e36 for 6 years. It was a POS '95 4dr m42. Worst combo in terms of performance.
Plus being a poor college student that only did oil changes on it, didn't help either.

Purpose of this tread is to see what percentage of users stand on the topic of this chassis.

    Discuss.

After seeing several of my friends own E36s, the issues they deal with, and driving the M3 model. Never.

Those need more meat on the tires. 255 rears or bust.....on stock fenders.

I would only own an M3 because it is the most affordable M3 at the present. It's a very nice car when you overlook the aesthetics. Mine I've gotten pretty much running/driving perfect, it just looks like shit with the sagging headliner and door panels.

E36 is fine for the most part. Issues are overblown.

Bold Opinion. There is hardly any difference between the road feel of an e36 and an e30.

I sold my 4dr e36 late last year to buy my newest e30. Overall I loved it as my daily driver for 2+ years. The only major downside for me was the interior is just crap quality. The headliner was starting to fall apart around 160k, the door cards are pretty crappy too and then it was just a long list of little shit that never broke on my 330k e30.

All that being said, I do miss it as a daily compared to my 2dr e30, but I smile every time I see my e30 in the driveway.

Nope. If I wanted something that was going to fall the pieces I'd just buy a volkswagen.
