You want to add weight to your frame.....SQUAT. Its not just a leg exercise. Along with deadlifting you maximize total body muscle activation when doing these compound lifts.

You don't have to prove anything man. Lifting is a battle against yourself. If those are your numbers thats awesome, if you're lying you're only cheating yourself. I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt.

I see guys all day long go in the gym, goofing off, talking while they in the middle of sets. In my opinion, they are wasting their fking time. You can lift so much more if you get in the zone.

I see guys do 225 squats all day. why is that hard to believe. If anything, I dont think 225 on squats is that impressive. My legs arent even that big and are my weakest part of my body.
I never asked you to come in and talk about how you disapprove of powerlifting and dont need it and down play its importance either. So far, nothing you've said aligns with any real education in lifting and technique and biology. Thats how I know.

Btw, I dick around and goof off and laugh and enjoy my time in the gym, right after I bounce out of the hole with the barbell weighted down on my traps ass to grass. Theres no logic in anything you've said. Theres lots of you in the gym aka 2 plate squatters on the smith machine. LOTS. Literally 1 out of 10 people at the gym squat even half-way.

If you arent squatting like this:

        then its not real.

This is not a full squat. This is a half squat.

See where Im going with this?
Not sure why theres so much misinformation in the gym about this mythical ancient exercise.

Because the half squat is what I see in the magazines..........so it must be right...right? HAHAHA!

The dude doing that half squat is going to hurt himself too, WAY to far forward....

Exactly... Magazines are probably the issue here, so we cant blame the fakers in the gym. I mean what more can you say about building muscle other than lift heavy shit, set it down, and eat meat and vegetables? Pretty boring.

I can almost feel the ankles rolling in those squishy running shoes. LOOK AT HOW RIPPED HE IS THO! THIS MUST BE THE CORRECT WAY TO SQUAT :giggle:

My wife ruins posers days left and right in the gym. Being summer it's flooded with highschool dingdongs. I squat past parallel, in the hole but it come from the powerlifting days of suits and what not. When my wife started lifting with me I taught her the ATG method. She'll get right next to these posers in the rack doing magazine squats, at 145lbs. she's repped 195lbs. squats.

My wife has an amazing butt btw....

Post pictures shirtless and we'll help you (n-n-n-no homo)

keep lifting bro. i made a choice to focus on form rather than stacking weight after hitting my first few plateaus, dont let em get you down. get the form proper and everything will work out. doesnt matter what weight you're working with, its the form and lift consistency that matters. i came from the cycling realm and started with very little.

Y'all should check out this dude. Ive read some of his books now. Solid stuff. The guy is a freak in the lifts and diet department. Super smart too.
Lifting weights, large muscles, short shorts, mustaches, tank tops, flannel and beards.

This guy benches more than me :(
Sy Perlis is 91 years old, has a beard, and is setting lifting records. That, my friends, is what dudes do. Sy Perlis is a World War II veteran who trains five days a week and has a pretty good loo…

You must be like a toothpick at that height and weight. I would just lift heavy and eat everything in sight until you reach about 210, then cut to 200... well maybe depends on your bone structure (inb4nosuchthing) if you are small frame then maybe 185 lean would be good.

lifts are fine, except your bench is a bit overpowering compared to your squat and DL.

Also your post is #305 :)

Im also 6' and weigh in at 190 with 13 percent body fat. I could stand to use a bit more size.

Set a new PR today in Back Squats 325lbs.

Ive been lifting on and off all my life. I joined a Crossfit Box here in Miami 2 years ago, and with a side of Olympic lifting have seen some really good gains in strength and mobility.

As others have said. Its form over weight. Get your form down right and the weight will come much faster.
