You say this like its a bad thing.........................

I will stick with MT..... though the software/tech barons, movie-stars, Rock and Roll band members, CEO's, Pro Athletes and other rich SoCal big city slicker types have kinda taken over with both full time and vacation homes around where I live and kinda made parts of it SoCal lite and its spreading like a fucking plague

Other than maybe northern Pan Handle of ID there really is no where else I would rather live

i love all of California, i live in socal and i have family in the bay area. but i like where i live. I'm an hour away from everything, I'm an hour away from the mountains , an hour away from the beach , an hour away from los angles and san diego. i like living an hour away from everything. yes there are some unsavory people, but every place has that. And about the not knowing your neighbors thing, i know all my neighbors hell were i used to live we used to have a block party at the end of every month that my mom organized.
I wouldn't mind living the PNW or northern cali ( I'm up there all the time anyways). I could live in colorado too (mainly for the mountain roads). i could move to new England too, maybe not i don't like snow that much.

I have family in San Francisco and San Jose. I always love going there... Same with the PNW, I have family in Oregon and I fuckin' love visiting there. In fact, my Grandparents are thinking of handing down their property over the coming years......

I like my place in the world.

The Adirondacks are my back yard, and if I want to spend the day/weekend in the city I'm 3 hours from Boston, Montreal, and NYC.

I like having four seasons, although I don't like what winter does to cars.

This is another reason why the quote above yours is absurd. I have some in-laws in Idaho who grew up in the South, and they say it's quite a favorable comparison with the exception of the colder winters there and hotter summers here.

Im almost 27. I was born and raised in Douglasvill, Ga. I moved to San Pedro ( LA ) in 1998 at the age of 12. It took about a year and a half to adjust to cali ways. After living in a few areas of SFV and Southbay, I love it out here.

I dont like red necks , sick of the sticks, storms and heat. Also the pace of life out there is way to slow for me. LA never sleeps!

Ive got family all over the Eastcoast ( VA , GA , FL and Texas ) The cost of living is cheap out there but it seems people never move on.

Ive meet plenty of people from the east that have moved out here and love it.

Its Diverse out here and I like that. Full of culture.

Im sure if I never moved out here , i'd have like 5 kids drive a jeep and live out in the boondocks. Im happy where im at now.

As far as fake people go, keep in mind most people here in the LA area are transplants from another state or country and when they come here
I think there are also great universities in socal as well. I go to UCSD, got into UCLA, and they are right on par with Cal. We are ranked very high up in the nationwide and worldwide rankings.

And to the latter - YES.
San Diego is the place where you'll see more out of state license plates than Cali plates for sure.
