I'm 17. Honestly I'm terrified of my car's limits, I've never come close. And I'm scared shitless of some of my friends driving when I'm in the car with them (sqealing tires around corners in a minivan). And other friends I'm just pissed off because it seems like they missed some lessons in driver's ed. One of my friends seems completely oblivious to the fact the left lane is for passing. Every time we'd get on the highway he would get into the far left lane and go 65 untill we had to exit. So yea, teen drivers do suck. Probably me too, I'm just so full of myself I couldn't be bothered to notice.
IMO, one of the worst terrorists in America.....

Im 19, and I know I suck at driving, shit I crashed my last e30 without even driving wrecklessly... hence why I drive like with 100% concentration and follow traffic laws.. its easier and cheaper in the long run.
I cant wait for spring, auto x and track days are gonna be this shit. thats where I get to have my fun, and become a better driver!Comment

I saw it on CNN this morning. If a teen has a teen passenger it increases 2x of getting in an accident. More than one teen passenger increases it 5x. That's scary.
Here's to hoping some of the common curteousy laws of driving may become laws.Comment

That's why I make it a point to be extremely careful when I have passengers in the car. I have no problem with schenans when I'm the only one in the car, but I will not risk anyone else's safety.Originally posted by eightyfoureI saw it on CNN this morning. I make a point to be the one driving WHEREVER I go, unless I know the person and know they are safe. I'm on the edge of my seat when my friends drive, and it just pisses me off, I try to correct them, give them pointers, and they just say "fuck you, I'm two months older." Dumbasses.Comment

talk when you know anything matt... he made it sound like he was better off for driving like a jackass and being "at limit", aka about to lose control.Originally posted by MR 325Shutup
you encouraging that behavior? oh yeah, you are a teen driver making a turbo e30 street car, so I assume the answer is therefore yes...Comment

im a kid and I suck at driving. I've made desperate attempts to practice and sharpen my driving skills, like attend driving events at Willow Springs (streets of willow) and try out an autocross.
but it doesn't mean I can't have fun out on the road (away from random cars, of course) :D

re-read your own fucking postOriginally posted by BENdashdashYou assume too much. Read my post again; I don't feel the need to defend myself.
You are stating your belief that you driving like a jackass improved your ability of car control and you are better off for doing so. Even if you admit it was stupid, you are still encouraging said behavior... and you should be more aware not simply what you say, but how it can be interpreted. Even if you know in your mind what you mean, others may read it and say "shit, i can drift and know how to avoid accidents better" and end up causing more, including deaths.I drove crazy two years ago, ebraking, drifting, taking my cars to the limits. ...because of it, I believe I am a much better driver than many people on the road that crash into guard rails or oncoming traffic because they can't control their slipping car due to lack of experience even though they have more wheel time than I.
and plus, you are implying that at 18 only having avoided fucking up while being a jackass on the streets have given you understanding of car control when you have only been on the street.... that is pretty niave as there is a realm of driver you haven't experienced yet
I am encouraging learning how to control the safe, legal, and right way.Last edited by rwh11385; 01-19-2006, 02:53 AM.Comment
