    Mercedes Benz 2.3 190E 16V - What Say R3V

    Smoke Grey 1986 Mercedes Benz 2.3 190E 16-V

    - It's a car limited in production; I've always liked the DTM era and its history and the car in question I offered $5K but was listed higher. The gentleman owns five cars and simply needs to unload.

    - Engine has been rebuilt; Maintenance History (paper and electronic) for close to 20 years; 3 owners and driven sparingly for the past 5.

    - I ALREADY know what this car will look like when i'm done...that is IF I decide to buy it.

I really, really want this car. Feedback from some of the experienced brethren would help, or just comments in general.

sounds like this a cosworth? manual trans? rust free and in nice shape? if yes to all those, you should buy it.

I would only consider a euro manual trans car. I just can't get past the US spec 167HP engine being the same output and less torque as a 325i and with more weight.

            It is indeed et al.

reeliz, I did think of that and there are still a few companies abroad who specialize in the model and I can find parts for the 2.5, Evo I and Evo II as well. Like the E30 M3, you have to pay to play.

the 190E 16v was also offered with a manual in the US, not only in Europe.

              Just an FYI

Do it. You won't regret it. Here's our build thread:

Levent from Guten Parts can hook you up with whatever you need/want. Coilovers, BBK, wheels, ITB's, etc. are no problem anymore.

                            Hahahah, ouch.

If its a clean car, the Cosworth is a very cool car. I'd be down to own one, its got 4 doors instead of two, the interiors are nice, and I have to admit, the Evo versions with the HUGE rear spoiler are eye catching for sure. Not something you see every day.

M3s are bitchin cars, but if you know what you are getting into, I say go for it just to be different. I have just as much respect for a Cossie as I do for the M3. (The lack of power on the US versions kinda sucks, but there is a way to fix that so its not all bad. )
