If you're up to the cost involved to maintain one, go for it. I had one and loved it. 190's had way more standard equipment and factory options vs e30's. But I love my e30 more.

Like what...power seats? Self leveling Suspension ? climate control? LCD laptimer? multilink rear suspension in an underpowered car? They are nice and well built cars but a lot of that stuff doesn't even work anymore including the LCD laptimer of all things. I remember someone on 190Rev had made a replica timer for $150. For an LCD laptimer! A car this size doesn't need any of that. All that fancy stuff yet no DME/EFI? no OBC? Not even a decent sound system? What was helpful when new is now a hinderance 25+ year later when the stuff breaks. Euro models...cool but US spec has too much fluff."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

Wikipedia says Sportlines were sold from '92-'93, and this one is an '89. I think only the interior is "sport" equipped? Also, I own two other e30s that are both red with tan interiors; I don't think I could stand another car with that combination. And it's an auto.
I'm liking that black one more but it may need balljoints. And it's an auto...Comment

I found this old vid posted by someone. This was the first and the only time I brough both of my two cars to a local Supercar Sunday. Btw, it's not an AMG like the poster said, but rather an Euro grey market model. They both have plusses and minusses in comparison. From my experience with ppl I met, the 190e tends to attract older audience, while the M3 is a magnet to the 20-35yr old. Unfortunately, both are 25+yrs old and neither are chick magnets :(

*Might just be my lame way of justifying only owning cars that are 23 years old or older.Comment

Of course they are not chick magnets. But if you are out looking for less than completely shallow women a 25+ year old car probably won't hurt you, as long as it's clean and well maintained. Besides, it's about what you enjoy owning, not what some notional woman you have yet to meet thinks.*
