Fuck if you did that here me or my manager would not have any problem firing you, in fact if this guy was working for me I probably would have sacked him long ago.
I would walk out on a business that can not take them self's seriously, not only would I walk out I would arrange a meeting the highest person I could, in which I would high light my concerns and exactly why I am leaving.
End of the day if they can not organize them self's and grow some balls to fire people when necessary then they are not going to last long anyway.sigpicComment

It's a small company and this guy was their first employee who has deep roots with the presidents family. After being here 8 months there is alot of questionable activities that go on. Our accountant had questioned the legitimacy of his hours to me before, she's brought it up to management and they basically tell her take care of her own business. After bringing up issue with the owners a few times I have just stopped until this happened...but at this point I'm over it. I promise this story isn't BS however I'm not going to post photo's or company emails on here...just yet. This place is f-ed.This absolutely terrible internal control. There should be a clear separation of duties so an employee can't change his time without payroll knowing about it. Like wise payroll should be 'audited' by accounting or HR so that you can't embezzle money like this. I don't see why payroll can't cut him off.
The fact that the owners/CEO don't care makes me question the legitimacy of the business, or your story. It's either blatant unabashed nepotism, or a bull shit story. I can't see payroll or an accountant just let it slide unless they are getting handys from the owner under the table.
If the owner doesn't want to fire him he doesn't have to fire him. If the owner wants to give him a raise he can give him a raise. The employee handbook can be thrown out the window whenever the owner wants. It's not an employment contract.91 318is M50 swapped

What you need is not evidence of him screwing the company, you need data on how you can make the business run so much better. If it's not some huge company where innocent people are getting ripped off, (grandma, the infirm), and management knows what's going on, then just say fuck it. How old are you OP? I aks this because clearly you do not have much experience in the workplace.
Once you get older you'll realize that despite your best efforts, some things just wont work out for you in you favor (such as this situation).

Been there tried that. He left for two weeks around the holidays and for two weeks, every single order went out on time, the warehouse was cleaned like it never had been and morale was high. I brought my manager in to show him the difference and he was shocked, however once this guy was back, he had his way again. I'm over it. Despite your massively condescending tone, I do agree with the gist of your post. I'm 29 and have been managing warehouses for the last 6 years and had a fortunate run at pretty much only have jobs at companies who valued integrity and honesty so I suppose it's a bit naive to think that something like this should be left alone since it's not my business. However, since the issue had been brought to my attention by our accounting/payroll person sometime ago, and since numerous others feel this guy is massively under qualified, I felt it needed to be brought up. However, all it's done is show myself and some others the priorities of the company so I suppose the silver lining is finding out now rather than later. If I were you, i'd look elsewhere. That's one of the down sides to a small mom-n-pop companies.Comment
