    I'm all about questions.

How would you guys go about talking about carrying on the job? I feel like if I were to ask then I might scare my female boss and she may think differently of me. But yesterday she was talking about how we only have 1 exit, the front door, and that that's kinda freaky

How would I find out if my company allows carrying or doesn't allow it? Do you guys just carry and if you ever have to use it to defend yourself/people that you hope that covers your job?

I feel like I'd rather lose my job than my life. I know people leave there carry gun in a bag while at work but what good is it in my bag if I am in the copy room? Or if someone finds it/ steals it
    COMPANY HAND BOOK.

Dig thought it, I am sure there is a NO WEAPONS policy in it, for liability reasons. DO you work for a big corporate outfit or a small family run deal where you can talk to the owner and discuss your concerns and seek a (even if unofficial off the record) exception to the rule. Asking your supervisor or department head is going to get you nowhere for the most part as they are going to tell you NO to cover their own ass.

Yes you will be more than likely fired if your caught, or even if you ended up using it successfully to defend yourself or coworkers. I work for a smallish family business, and even though out hand book says NO Firearms in a company trucks or on the property, its for liability. My boss always jokes he can fire me any time he wants, as he knows I have at least 1 gun on me or in my truck all the time. When I have to go to NJ/NY/MD I stop at the shop and put it/them in the safe in his office for christ sake................ Us travel hands also live out of hotels, in some shity areas at times, so he understands why most of us do have a weapon with us. But my situation is the exception not the rule.

Pharmacist in Detroit last year returned fire. Walgreens fired him the next day. He got his job back after massive national media attention still not allowed to carry as employee.

few days ago autozone fired a kid for running out to his car to get his weapon to defend his store and his boss for a robber. Fired on the spot.

Those are just the 2 I can think of off the top of my head

Yeah I would check with your boss or HR person if you have one. Are there others there that you know have ccw permits? You cold ask them too, but bottom line, find out from the person in charge (go to the top; don't risk asking a lowly assistant type manager who may hate guns).

My boss is very pro-carry at work. In fact he encourages it. As long as it is legal to carry a weapon and you've let him know that you'll be doing so, he is all about it. He asks that you not carry with a round chambered, which for liability purposes from his standpoint I can understand. But, knowing that at any given time, 4-5 out of 15 of our employees are carrying, is pretty comforting. Someone would be in a world of hurt if anyone tried to hold us up.

Agreed with all of this. See if you can get your hands on a SOPMOD stock for sure.

Spikes Lower. Samson Star Rail. DPMS Kitty Barrel. DPMS LPK. Hogue grip. Spikes buffer tube assembly for AR Pistols. Surefire Millennium light w/ tape switch. A knock off Magpul MS3 sling (wanted MultiCam to replace the black MS2 on it previously).

Have a conversion 22LR for it and of course 5.56 BCG, too.

I have a Troy Claymore for it, just need to break it all apart and twist it on.

                  Regards.
The ATF does all the defining.

The buffer tube is smooth and over-sized as to not accept a stock. If it was not, there could be implied constructive possession. It is something to argue in a court of law. Not the interwebZ. See ATF.

The barrel length and overall length do play a part, too. It is the stock - or lack thereof - that really could make this an SBR or Pistol.

It is fun to shoot. It is a toy. The barrel length is not the best for the round chambered. It is a loud, fireball machine. A collection of parts I gathered, had around. It is also a way for folks to wait for their stamp to turn something like that into an SBR. Once the stamp arrives, legally build an SBR, then you put a stock on it and GTG.

anyone recommend a shop in mass that will permanently attach a muzzle brake to my AR barrel for a decent price? Remsport MFG in western Mass seems to be very reasonable, aside from the fact that its 2 hours away from Boston, looking for something closer.

Your best bet is to ship it out and have it done. This company is top notch and has an incredible turn around time. I have used their services for many things and cant say enough good about them.

Find someone with a drill press and a welder. It's way more free. I don't personally get why so many people use Adco for pinning/welding. They do good work for a reasonable price, but I am too damn impatient and don't like sending guns/uppers/parts out unless necessary, especially if I can get it done locally today or do it myself. I did mine myself at my buddies shop for the low low price of $free.99. I would think many machine shops would be able to accommodate you on the spot.

If you're not interested in doing it yourself or are more patient than me, listen to Dub and send it to Adco.

I actually just pinned the new muzzle brake on my AR this morning. Officially moving to CT so needed to remove the flash hider and replace it with the brake.

It was actually really easy. All I need to do now is just tac weld the pin tomorrow at the shop, since I don't have a welder here. I called a few shops and they were anywhere from $50-$75 to do it. Then I stumbled on the how to on AR15.com and figured I'd give it a shot.

                            Stock A2 hider removed:

I didn't even use a dill press, cordless worked great! Stick the brake in a vice or find some other means of keeping it stable. Mark the muzzle brake, use a punch to make the drilling start easier, then drill through it.

Next measure 1/16th (of an inch) of the drill bit after it is has been drilled through the brake, then tape it off on top of the brake to give you a stopping point.

Thread the brake onto the barrel, with a new crush washer, get it tight/aligned properly, then drill through the existing hole in the brake and into the threads of the barrel, then stop when you reach your tape mark on the bit.

Insert your pin (cut piece of coat hanger works great), cut it off, tap it in a little, trim and smooth over, then get it welded. Easy!

                              Here's my contribution:

Mosin Nagant, 1934 dated, Izhevsk. So cheap, so fun.
Spike's Tactical ST-15, eats even the cheapest steel cased ammo like a champ.
WASR 10/63UF, yes I know it's a bit tacticool, but the setup works great for me.
More to come. New budget allows for more toys.
