I want the Burris AR-332, but money is soo tite nowadays. They had a Black Friday sale on the Burris for $269. Super cheap. PSA is having a Black Friday sale on the Vortex for $119!
Vortex is not very good, as far as most of their model lines go. For your rifle and red dot/halo it would be the viper maybe, but for that kinda money you can get a Nice New EOtech, or maybe a gently used 4x triggi. Vortex makes 2 decent lines (the viper and the razor respectively) , one acceptable and one GREAT line, but you have to pony up money similar to the big boys, Like Zeiss, Night Force, and up to get your mitts on them.

You have built a fine precision quality rifle (as far as AR's and semi autos go) you have not cheeped out anywhere, why bail now on the glass and rings. IMO the glass and rings are of more importance than the rifle it self, its like buying cheap tires for your pro 3 car, you cant use the rifle to its fullest. You want to be the weak link in the system, not the weapon system. The rifle you have built will out shoot you and it will out shoot both your options you have posted up for glass. I will never understand why people will put north of a 1000 or 2000 bucks in a weapon, then put a 200 dollar el-cheapo optic/sighting and mounting system on it and still wonder why it does not shoot like they expected

If it were me ( I understand the tight budget thing been there) I would be out playing with it and practicing the fundamentals with your Irons. While saving up a while to get a Good EOtech or used triggi, with the appropriate mounts form A.R.M.S. . If you want a more traditional glass approach Zeiss Conquest in 3.5-10x44 if you can find one with target turrets. I am very very happy with the entry level Zeiss Conquest line, very very good optics and solid as a brick shit house to get noticeably better you have dole nearly twice the cash. Or a Loopy Mark 4 in a fixed 10x the only Loopy product I would pay for anymore. All in A.R.M.S. Rings and throw lever quick mounts.

I have gone on an on too much hope this is of a little help anyway. I guess my over all point here is buy once cry once, it pertains to many many things in life....

^thanks for the info. I understand what yer saying about quality glass. I have been ogling scopes for a solid week now. I have read dozens of reviews on all kinds of scopes. I can't seem to find a nice tactical scope with some magnification other than the acogs. I'm not a fan of the eotech style red dot either, just don't see a reason to have a non magnified scope when you can just use irons. The Burris ar332 has excellent reviews but it doesn't cowitness with irons which is annoying. The vortex strike fire gets pretty good reviews and cowitnesses with irons, and I can pick one up and play with it until I have real money to pick up something of better quality. I guess I'm just looking for something to hold me over for the time being...

I completely understand the buy once, cry once sentiment. I learned that the hard way with the e30. I suppose I will get proficient with my irons for now, maybe I will hit the lotto and buy an lwrc reaper with ACOG in the near future! LOL

I do understand your position. I have been there several times LOL. As far as a reaper goes, nice weapon, but way over priced. LMT is the way to go, just as good if not smidge better than LWRC for 2/3 the cost. I love my LMT MWS, and considering picking up a 6.8 LMT as well.

Oh and how did you build such a weapon so full of all those evil features like a "pistol grip" and high capacity detachable mag, flash hider and so on if you live in the bay area??? Dont they have some kind of weapons detectors on the bridge or something to keep those scary things out ????

Bc the mag is not detachable, and also it's blocked to 10rd... Bullet button is our savior in CA. Well more like a gift/curse. But it lets me have all these evil features.

Next build will be a "featureless" which will allow me to run detachable mags along with any high caps I have sitting around from the pre-ban days.

Anyone have experience with Walther PPQ (9mm)?

Looking to pick up a good carry weapon with the option of light/lazer combo, I have read nothing but good reviews on them.

Ive heard mixed reviews on the Walthers but can't say anything about them personally. But ive shot the Ruger SR22 and loved it. Good friend has one with 3500 rounds through it with 0 issues. Look like the same gun to.

The EOtech is not a scope, but an optical sight. With no magnification, it allows the shooter to sight with both eyes open, drastically increasing accuracy, rate of fire, and faster target acquisition verses iron sights.

That is why the ultimate setup is an EOtech with a FTS (or QD) 3x magnifier, w/ BUIS of course.

Anybody permanently fitting a magnifying scope on a M4 or M16 platform carbine is making a mistake as it would be detrimental in a close quarters/multiple target combat situations.

                          And yes...I know the US military issues M4s w/ ACOGS, but talk to a real soldiers and you will see they take it off and replace it with their own set up. Here are some REAL pictures of my daughter/soldiers in Afghanistan...virtually all using the above mentioned set up;

not a 9mm but I have a LCP with the crimson trace. Long ago I swore I would not carry anything but a 45acp again. Well as I get a little older and wiser, I have been carrying my LCP in a wallet holster in my back pocket for a while now. Its discreet and I dont have to worry about being out of state and it printing and getting in some deep shit. We are in the xmass shopping rush around here now and all the Imports (Californians) and Canadians are out in force, and I dont have to worry about "man with a gun" calls even though open carry is 100% legal here.

You are pretty much on point with your post, the Eotech is an awesome sight but its 1 main drawback is battery life. I currently own a 552 Rev F for one of my weapons.

The ACOG is an amazing site for the AR platform. But if you want to be the shiz-nit. You would ditch all of them and go with the Specter DR. Where you can go from 0 to 4 power in a flick of a switch.

Best all around weapons scope ever!
