Ok guys here we go. I picked up my Mil Spec Springfield 1911 today! Sooooooooo happy with it!
It has been a VERY long week in the catering kitchen with 9000 pieces of H'orderves (and a lot of other food!). It felt f**king great to pick this thing up at the end of today and squeeze some rounds off.
Just so you guys know before I start posting up pictures this gun was unloaded and clear the whole time. later on there will be a picture where a mag is in the pistol. It was not loaded ether.
Got all my mags loaded up with some Remington 45acp FMJ's and went to town. I didn't eat any full meals today, just snacks here and there while cooking my ass off, so my hands were shaking a lot. I was also excited which did not help.
Here are my first seven rounds I ever shot through this gun. This is also only the sixth time shooting a hand gun so try not to criticize my grouping to much. This was at seven yards.
Some more rounds down range later that day on a second target at seven yards.
I really like this gun! I love the trigger feel, how the frame fits into my hands, and I like the stock mil spec sights as well. I had no problems at all. No feeding or firing malfunctions, and no hammer bight. This pistol fits my hands well.
I also put the new grips on the gun, and I like them. They don't seam to big/thick and they fit well. I like the two tone :)
I like my 10 round MC mags a lot. Less time loading, more time shooting. There is an added benefit for people with large hands like me. The mag sticks out of the butt of the gun far enough that the bottom of my left palm can rest on mag when I shoot the gun. It was hard to take a picture of it but you get the idea.
The MC mags had a hard time making it past the mag release button catch a few times, but they fed the amo really well. You just have to give them a good tap when inserting them. I bet that will go away the more I use the 1911.
The stock seven round mags (two o them came with the pistol) work well as well. How ever they do not load as smoothly as the MC mags do.
Thats it for now. I could not be happier with the 1911!Last edited by deutschman; 12-16-2011, 07:41 PM.sigpic

good shooting and lovely 1911!
This might help ya on your shooting. Its only for pistol and will not apply to rifles.

Got to play with one of my xmas presents a little early. New wood half-checker grips for my CZ-75D. They feel awesome, noticeably thinner, but they still retain the palm swell. Cellphone pic for now, as I have to put them back in the box until Christmas day :(
