yes people can give guns as a gift with out dealing with paperwork. Now if its legal where you live is another issue. What pistol is it?

Edit: There is so much conflicting info online. Some say that the California certified gun roster is only for new gun sales and private party sales unless it is a gift between parent, child or grandparent. Some say that if you are an AZ resident and move to Cali you cant bring a gun that isn't on the roster but then some say you can but they have to be registered. I'm just trying to figure out how to make this gun legal here so I don't get any flack for it.

This seems to go against the part in the 2nd amendment "...the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." Particularly the infringing by having to involve the Feds in a private sale.

A private party sale is just that, private.

I was looking into that "single shot" thing to make it legal and then just remove it after which is legal. Stupid loopholes.

Ok guys in Aus it's painful to get a handgun and we have to have our first one for 12 months and it has to <=9mm so I am either looking at a Kimber 1911 Custom target 2 in Stainless or a Beretta 92fs.
I'm starting to side on the Beretta due to its price/ reviews.
Any opinions?
