Just wanted to give some very positive feedback for Atlantic Firearms.
I placed my order with them yesterday, and sent them an E-mail this morning letting them know of my prior issue with CTD. I simply asked for confirmation that the rifle was in stock, because I didn't want to waste more time on a bad order.
I got a response within the hour, and tracking info by 11:00am. Not to mention, they ship fedex, and I should have the rifle tomorrow!
Atlantic Firearms, now my go to for online purchases.
That's what's up, glad that worked out for you. Gotta love good customer service!

M10 came in at the ffl dealer today. I went to pick it up but can't do the transfer for another 10 days. Apparently you have to have a driving record in VA of at least 30 days. Serves me right for waiting so long to change my license.
Other than that, I was very impressed with the m+m m10-762, at least with the little I got to handle it. I cannot wait to get in some trigger time.

Mental illness is big problem in this country. I hate when things get to this point and we have these type of situations, but they happen and decisions have to be made in split second. Some people want to flame the cop for being excessive, some say the cop should of used less lethal force, […]

looked like a suicide by cop to me, Big guy with knives not following simple instructions to stop and put them down and continued his approach. He was well inside the 20 foot rule, could it have been handled differently yup sure could have been, was this an acceptable action in this situation YES cant say I would have done it any differently..... even with the solid 1st person Vid you cant monday morning quarterback him on this one.
Seems to be a "good shoot" as sad as it was.
All that said the reasoning the cop thought he needed to go into the house and confront the man is a topic for another thread even with the woman's request and permission and is a bigger issue with agents of the state across the board that is getting out of hand

With that said, those who carry concealed need to be prepared to react exactly as this cop did when faced with a lethal threat. My thoughts go out to the family of the suicidal kid and to the cop and his own mental wellness. I'm sure taking a life, no matter how justified can make your brain go upside down.
Yea this was a real unfortunate turn of events. Its easy to place blame on both parties, but When it came down to it I think I would've done the same. Then again, who knows.

Should also point out that the cop was a good shot, people don't fall like a sack of potatoes unless it's a well placed shot. At least the guy didn't suffer due to a few ill placed gut shots. I doubt all 4 shots made contact though, sure hope there weren't any innocent people hurt in the adjoining apartments.
Uhg, still feel sick to my stomach... need to go watch some lighthearted car videos.
after watching the footage, Im glad I was not in that situation. But playing couch quarterback, I felt the shooting was a bit premature. The cop could have exited the house as he was just inside the door. The guy with the knife did not charge him but merely walked towards him. There was other officers on the scene and the house could have been blocked off and a negotiator might have been able to change the ending. I think I counted 4 shots. Was that over reacting or just nerves? 1 shot in the shoulder would have gotten him to drop the knifes and the guy most likely would have lived.
Again Im glad I was not put into that position.

Officers and responsible concealed carry civilians are trained to stop the threat as immediately as possible, shooting to harm as in the shoulder or leg is a big no no. If you are in the position that you need to pull the trigger, you do so until the attacker is no longer coming towards you or no longer posses the ability to do you harm.
I do not second guess the officer's decision. Waiting for backup would not have changed the outcome, it's not like they are going to bear tackle him instead, he had two knives. They couldn't leave him there, they were investigating a crime.

they are to remove the threat, that does not mean end someone's life. Back up was already there as you hear the other officer help holding back the person outside. Sure the cop was justified but again playing couch quarterback, a better solution to the situation was an option for the officer.

If you are in immediate threat of deadly injury, then removing the threat means incapacitating them as quickly as possible. Unlike the movies portray, a shot to the shoulder does not throw someone back 10 feet. It would give the assailant more time (and motivation) to attack you quicker and with more force. The quickest way to immediately stop a threat is to shut out the lights, that is the safest means and therefore is what is trained in all police and self defense courses. If it were me or him, I wouldn't risk it with a non lethal shot...
