AFAIK membership is still expensive, and you need a trailer, and be present at the auction, so it's not like any Joe (no pun intended) can easily get a car.
Right, but the problem here, is that Copart is enabling people to illegally dismantle cars for profit. That means that all of a sudden I have to compete with people that don't pay taxes, insurance, licenses, bonding, payroll, etc etc etc... AND I have to pay more for the cars in the first place, since all these people with no overhead can get "good deals".

... I didn't even re-register for the auctions this year.

Is it illegal to purchase a car from a copart auction, dismantle it, and sell the parts?

I never looked into the laws.

That's for businesses. What about your average person that buys a cheap car and decides to sell parts off of it? Does he have to work under junkyard regulations? Where do you draw the line? 1 part? 10 parts? 100 parts?

i know that. that means every person in the for sale forum is operating as a business. my point is where you draw the line. you draw it so that people aren't buying and selling parts for 3 cars a year, because it effects your business. someone like me would draw it higher because I like picking up cheap/free cars, taking the good parts, and taking the junk to the scrap yard - and either using the parts, or selling them.

To take that one step further, there are habitual offenders that I am upset with as well, but... what can you do?

That is the beginning of the story of why I no longer am on BF.C, which I view as a loss for them as I was a very active contributing member, as you can see. :)

Car washing is a good side hustle too.. Get a water tank, a pressure washer and a truck and set up shop in a parking lot near an apartment community. The people will come.
