I bought some handlebar tape but it won't stick to the handlebars... am I missing something or did I just get really old tape that lost it's stickiness?

It shouldn't really STICK to it that well. I'm assuming you peeled the wax paper off right? lol. The "adhesive" is more like a tacky gel that just helps to keep the tape in place while you stretch and wrap it further.

Fun Short Story Time!

Ok so I pull out of my house and turn onto the street going the wrong way southbound. Well there was no northbound traffic, so I used that lane to get up to speed. As I came up to speed with traffic I crossed between two cars and continued at pace with traffic until we got up the the curves in the road.

Meanwhile, I hadn't notice but my dad pulled out right behind me in the car. Well after I go around the curves and through the traffic light he calls me and said, "You were just going 30 miles an hour." That pretty much made my day. Plus as I was cruising with traffic the guy in front of me kept looking in his mirror and was so excited to see that I was still back there. He threw up the old "Rocker hand".

OH yeah! This was on my new Fuji Track...

Yeah, I've been able to keep up with traffic more and more, I'd say most of the time when I'm really hauling ass, I've got to be doing around 25-30 mph.

Our night ride got cancelled last night due to rain, I want to go ride SO BAD.

It's Fizik bar tape... I tried putting it on, and it just won't stay in place at all. I'll have to try again when I get back from work. BOOOOOOO.

Really? Mine is Fizik, and it stuck just fine. Like he said, it's not supposed to be super-sticky, it's just supposed to hold a bit while you stretch it around.

Are you overlapping it correctly? You're supposed to have it going over each prior wrap about halfway.

When I get new bars, I want to do the thing where you use 2 different colors, and weave them.

Oh sorry man, I didn't realize you were talking to me, my bad.

My ratio is a 48/16, but I think I'm going to go to 48/17. I'll have more skid patches, and it will make skidding and manuals easier, too. They have a 17y Surly cog at the LBS for $30.

im gon with a 17 too. i just won a surly on ebay for 12 bucks brand new.

How come you're running a rear brake and not just a front?

Looks great overall, I love the gold chain. I'm going to get a red one to go with my red bar tape and red leather pedal straps.
