Hmm... ebay for that if you ask me. Or call FixedGearFreaks.com. That shop has a ton of old bikes.
My dad picked me up a vintage Peugot in excellent shape though. Cant wait! Not gonna fix it though. Just keep it as a bullshit road bike so my friends can ride bikes with me.

heh, the first time i rode fixed, it was on a conversion with no brakes, no pedal retention, on a frame too big, on a street with a ton of potholes, in the dark. and i was drunk.

the odds were stacked against me, but i thought it was fun as hell!

I have found that, in the proper gear, fixed drivetrains climb great. I feel that it is a great climbing bike because of things like the straight chainline, the thicker chain (if you go 1/8 pitch) and the fluidity of the pedaling strike. Other factors like lack of derailleur pulleys and weight certinely help as well.

The only bad side about a fixed if if you live/ride in extremely different terrain...as in sharp down hills and sharp uphills. It is a hell of a workout using a fixed in hilly terrain but entirely possible, but there is nothing like the feeling of a 48x14 fixed on a smooth freshly paved road in flat terrain with the wind at your back...it is like you are flying in silence.

I think everyone should ride with brakes, or at least the front brake, but I admit to riding brakeless very very often. If you think abotu what you are doing and judge the distances you should be at less risk than the 'distracted' rider.
