New BMX frame matches my engine.

...actually, matches real well, my pedals are near identical in color to my oil cap. I didn't plan that, haha.

I probably posted this a few years back but I still really like it. BMX and E30 content.

I made my palms sore yesterday....from first 2 hour+ ride of the season yesterday. Oh I know what you were thinking! Have an e30 era Sekei Eurosport 2600 I bought new in about 1990. Shimano 105, biopace crank ( that's old school) but I love the bike. Chromoly frame that's fits good. Guess I'll be riding it a while longer as I spent my wad paypal-ing another r3v member 3+ months ago for a set of rims, still waiting for them to show up. No names, don't want to drag anyone's good name through the mud :) Still hopeful.

Hate to tell you, but I think that ship has sailed. Three months? It isn't coming.

Been wanting to get back on a bike for a while since I stopped riding a few years ago. I used to ride BMX bikes just to get around but I've outgrown them, and I'm terrible at tricks anyway haha. I'm looking to get a mountain bike now, and I'm eyeing these three, though I don't really know what I'm looking at when I look at the specs. Hoping you guys have some input.

#1 - Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 26". Least expensive of the three, and it looks like there's a few shops around here that sell specialized.

50 years of innovation poured into your bike. Made by riders, for riders. Shop the best road bikes, electric bikes, and mountain bikes on the market.

#2 - Cannondale Trail 5. Second most expensive, but it's right around what I'm looking to spend. Shouldn't be hard to find, lots of shops seem to sell Cannondale here, including REI. I was a little worried about quality when I heard they were bought out, but it seems like that's not an issue from what I've read. This one is probably my first choice.

#3 - Kona Shred. Most expensive of the three, and a bit more than I really want to spend. Hard to find, few Kona dealers nearby, closest being 30min away in Philly. I don't really know what I'm looking at on the spec sheet, but unless it's really worth the extra coin, I doubt I'll go for the Kona.

Comments? I don't know what kind of riding I'll end up doing, but it'll probably be mostly trails.

Built up Kelly McGarry's new bike last week for the CO Freeride-fest, he brought in his 650b Dh bike for me to build this week. Super nice guy, and obviously, he rips on a bike.

After having been hit by a car on one of my old bike (then my friend ran it over picking me up to go get stitches) and either losing my bike while drunk or having it stolen, i finally picked up a new beater.

Its a cheap Raleigh Sportif that was made in Taiwan that I picked up for $45 so I'd be less inclined to drive to less than a mile because I'm too lazy to walk. It looks pretty much like this:

Unfortunately it has 4 broken spokes in each wheel and the rear derailleur is all bent up and completely shot. Where is a good place to find spokes and a derailleur for cheap? I just don't want to dump much money into this bike because in good condition I doubt it'd be worth more than $100.

eBay is your friend. A decent bike shop should be able to put new spokes in the wheels and sort out the derailleur.

Ive had my Schwinn BMX since '99. Aluminum XS Enf Frame, Brand X Titanium forks and some other goodies. Years ago, my brother sold the wheels and the brakes and I had to buy some new stuff, but kept the giant 45T Profile sprocket wit hthe 16 in the back. The bicycle shop guy was trying to sell me those tiny sprockets people use today and I said F' No. haha

I dont ride it much, but dont think I can ever bring myself to sell it. I used to race it so much back in the day. I still like to get out and ride. Theres a park close to my house that Ive been tempted to ride, but need to fix the flat first.
