Agree, I think the hesitance will come from Jones, not Shogun.

That's awesome! I wonder how long the two will remain separate? Think this would potentially open the door for Fedor to step in the octagon for the UFC sometime?

As fun as Jones is to watch, it'll take a big mistake by Shogun for him to pull of the win IMO. Both are skilled, but I think when stuff gets close it'll be Shogun's experience and over all talent that wins it for him.

Like I said above, I think when Jones realizes how good Shogun really is, he'll go for the takedown, and that's when Shogun will sink in a submission.

no question Marquardt is a good person, humble and seems like a nice guy... Just don't really like him as a fighter.

circling my ass, have you not seen Shogun's fights? Mostly that of those in Pride or even his last two against Lyoto. If he is fully recovered from the post-Machida knee injury, expect him to dispatch Jones - KO/TKO in the 2nd.

I like Cro Cop and hope he's really "back" as he claimed he would be and puts on an ass-whipping, hospital-sending left-kick.... yeah, we'll see.

I don't like Marquardt, he's always falling short, hope he gets caught, dissapears.
I think Shogun is going to take a while to find his range, and I think Jones is going to be hesitant to jump right in, hence the "feeling out" time being long. I just dont see this fight ending via TKO or KO unless someone does something really stupid to expose themselves. I'm guessing we'll see Jones being very cautious, stying out of Shogun's range. He knows what Shogun's striking brings to the table, so he'd be best to stay away from that.

I like Marquardt, his fights aren't always the greatest, but he seems like a down to earth fighter, and those are often the ones I like most.

Shogun vs Jones - Shogun via submission 4/5th round. I think these guys are gonna do a lot of circling, couple good exchanges, but you have to think Jones will go for the takedown and try to end it there.

Faber vs Wineland - I'm going to go with Faber on this one, via rear naked choke/arm bar in the 3rd. I think Faber will be able to outlast Wineland and catch him late in the fight.

Shalorus vs Miller - I've honestly never heard of Shalorus, so I don't have a real guesstimate for this fight..

Cro Cop vs Schaub - This is tough. I love Cro Cop, but his last fights have been terrible to say the least. I think Schaub is one the rise, he's got great hands and doesn't run out of steam. I wouldn't be surprised to see a TKO or KO from Schaub.

Marquardt vs Dan Miller (stepping in for Akiyami) - marquardt is obviously a good fighter, underrated in many people's eyes. I give him the definite advantage, especially with his opponent taking the fight on such short notice.

    As far as Faber:

I was hoping to watch Shogun kill one of my least favorite fighters in Rashad, now I have to watch him fight a fighter I actually like in Jon Jones :(

Kurt Pellegrino vs Gleison Tibau should be good, hope it gets televised.

card blows IMO, Fitch's last 7 wins come by decision; 56.5%, or 13 of his total 23 wins, are D's. I don't enjoy his fighting and, like you, hope Penn beats em up. HOWever... Fitch hasn't lost since 2003 except for his loss to p4p* GSP in 08.

on a sad note, I'm going to be out of the country for the Shogun/Jones event. THAT'S going to be a badass event!!

Went to da bar instead of watching it, but saw the results and I am pissed that I will miss out on an Ubereem v Fedor fight....with that said I home Fedor comes back strong or retires, I don't want to see him become like Arlovski.
