didn't read this before posting my initial response, but..
its a well-evolved philosophy to accept and appreciate a person for who they are. i wouldn't consider your archaic and hyper-judeochristian worldview to be well-evolved. homosexuality is not an 'issue'. it is a naturally occuring preference and rule of attraction. there have been homosexuals since the dawn of time in the human realm, and even in the animal realm, which would presumably only be concerned with reproduction.
but since we are well-evolved humans, i would like to point out that not everyone's purpose is life is to propagate the planet with little carbon-copies of themselves. there is already a population crisis and shit's gonna hit the fan before 2050, so honestly it'd be better if more people would just be gay, if for only the reason of population control. and often, gays adopt kids who have no one else, care for them better than hetero couples, and ultimately improve society by raising a well-adjusted and open minded person instead of just letting the poor kid enter the foster system and slip through the cracks.
by the same token, if someone is willing to take a bullet for their country and for your right to spout hateful criticisms of their lifestyle, they are ten times the person you are.
please reconsider having children, the world doesn't need any more of this ignorance. it would be nice if there were less of your 'type' reproducing.
What do you know...the classic "if you disagree with us, you're (insert insult here)".
Homosexuality is a perversion of what the human body was meant to do. And of course you can now accuse me of hating all homosexuals.....which is not the case.

you disagree with homosexuality as a lifestyle and thus would deny a homosexual to serve openly in the military. instead you suggest enforcing self-denial, a lá "don't ask, don't tell", or worse, segregation. how is that anything but an insult?
This military business is all a non-issue. The real one is homosexuality itself. While progressives like to state that it is self evidently good, yay for freedom, diversity and equality, nature quite clearly disagrees as it denies life. It also shapes our ideas of gender roles, propagates androgyny, and makes the decadence of a type, in this case humanity, acceptable or even celebratory.
Yes, homosexuals can reproduce. In some cases they even choose to do so.
Are gay people denying you the opportunity to reproduce? No. Is anyone denying you the opportunity to reproduce? I sure hope so.
Is it some insane stretch of the imagination that maybe homosexuality is nature's answer to the problem of overpopulation?
Talk about ridiculous.
You're clearly disconnected from gays. And yes I have had several gay friends.
Let me guess, gays have a hand signal telling them they are gay and available to other gays. No, they're marked somewhere where only gays know. It's a secret....lol.
Gays are attracted to anyone they find attractive. Which means their own sex.
When was the last time you heard of a straight guy not being interested in a hot gay woman? And this shows what exactly? That it's a good idea to separate men and women from living and showering together in the military. And gays are no exception to distraction and sexual tension whether it be gay on gay or gay on straight.
Dude, don't take what i said out of context, you know what i'm saying.
Of course i check out gay women. Do I go up to them and hit on them thinking I can "change" them into being straight??? No.
I have never once in my life had a gay man hit on me or harass me or make me feel uncomfortable ONCE they've found out i'm not gay. What would be the point of that?
I can deduce this thought from your comments too: As if gay people have no social decency or restraint when encountered with a straight man, lol. Now that's funny. Ahhhh! cock! Gotta have it! I dont care if he's straight!
People like that are called rapists/perverts; can't control themselves. We're not talking about allowing sexual deviants in the military. Just men who don't like the vagin.
God, i would've killed to have a gay roommate in the army. Not to stereotype, but the clean room and tasty meals would've been nice, lol.

No, that is a pop philosophy detached from Nature and Reality which is destroying cultures, countries, economies and futures. It sounds great, but what convinces is not always true. Acceptance of all forms of decadence leads directly to mediocrity, and eventually submission to powers that grew stronger through valuing refinement over altruistic acceptance of nearly anything and everything.

Try Atheistic, Darwinian, Post-Nihilist with lots of love. I couldn't care less about your Atheistic, Half-Hearted-Darwinian, Nihilistic, full of hate and self-contempt, merely entertaining yourself on your way to the grave with no regard for the future, opinion. Have at it, go nuts - oh wait ;)

I will simplify this. Study the fall of Rome

And that's exactly the point...."openly". Does a heterosexual serve "openly"? No because no one cares that they're heterosexual. Because others assume they are. And it has little to nothing to do with actually serving. Gays want us to ignore what they do in the bedroom yet they want to make sure everyone knows they are gay in the military.
Homosexuals are so busy trying to make everyone know just how homosexual they are. Many of them flaunt it. The word "marriage" means shit to a homosexual...except that they can give their partner health insurance if they're married. They want the "bonuses" of marriage but want nothing to do with it otherwise.
How many heterosexuals have stickers on their cars flaunting that they are in fact heterosexual? Because it's normal and they don't have an axe to grind ("LOOK I'M HETEROSEXUAL EVERYONE!!! SO FUCK YOU.")
That's why DADT works. Because frankly it's no one else's business either way...but I totally understand not wanting to share tight quarters and showers with a gay guy.

You said it straight up and it's a common one from supporters. There was no context to change what you said. You meant exactly what you said.
The gay guy would have to be attracted to the straight guy to even care to find out if the straight guy is straight or gay in the first place wouldn't he. So he's only attracted to the guy if he's gay?...then why would he care to find out if the guy is gay? BECAUSE HE'S ATTRACTED TO HIM!
It's like saying gays don't check out guys that they are attracted to...till they find out the guy they are checking out is gay....lol.
