Hmmm... Was it made up? Positively not, it happened for real, but many other groups also were subjected to that genocide. Was the jewish holocaust used a lot to garner sympathy and pity (and be given a country)? 100% positive. It's called "public relation & advertising" There have been other holocausts and genocides in the past 100 years. Do we hear about them continuously? Not. Do they have museums around the world to put it in our face? Not that I am aware of.

I don't see Armenian, Cambodian, Rwandese, Bosnian holocaust museums in every single major countries around the world. None of these countries has recycled the "holocaust" word to make it their own with a capital "H"...
