so you are betting salvation on a 50/50 guess. I wish I could do that, the fact is my life would be much easier if I could believe, I wanted to, but I see nothing that points to anything other than a man made story to control or guide people in a direction.

I live my life with a high moral ground, higher than most religous people. I am 37 and have never done drugs, nor do I drink, I treat people well and volunteered my personal time to charities. But if these things are not good enough for God and I am screwed, but horrible people that believe in God are safe from damnation, than I am not sure that is a God that I would want to spend eternity with.

Christians believe that all you have to do is repent and accept christ to be accepted into heaven, so with that Hitler and Stalin in heaven but Ghandi in hell. I want nothing to do with that kind of God!

No I believe my beliefs are based on my faith. I have been in the states for 27yrs and 90% of my friends are non muslims, so as a kid and a young adult I did question my religion.. So not being ignorant I studied other religions.. I came to the conclusion that Islam was best for me since it made sense to me. I respect other religions but dont agree with them 100%..

Do you think that maybe your beliefs are rooted in ignorance?

    So who created him?

Man created his gods in his own image.

Oh, and I finally did get around to watching the "conclusive proof" in that video. I am nearly speechless, except to say.....if no "new" life is ever found, how do these people explain the thousands of "new" species found every year? Many even occur in areas scientists would say are pretty well cataloged.

But I would be more willing to believe that life on this planet was seeded by extraterrestrials rather than abandon all sense* and drink the invisible man in the sky kool-aid. Some call it communion, but it's still creepy. "Here-eat my body and drink my blood and I'll take you to heaven with me...."

*if there were no stars and all probes launched ran into something hard about 10 miles up, you could argue that the possibility of ET is remote at best. But with hundreds of millions of stars and planets which we can see, but no real evidence the invisible man in the sky even exists, much less gives a shit, I'd say the logical advantage goes to ET. ;-)
