??? I have never seen a denial of the connection between radical Islam and terrorist activities. I have certainly seen a denial, supported by fact, of the idea that all Muslims are somehow defacto terrorists.

All the righty blogs are creaming their skirts at the thought that the lefties are now killing each other!

Fact is, it's too soon to know much. Instead, we have lots of supposition.

        wow

so when the left, moments after the shooting, blames right wing talk radio, sarah palin, glenn beck, rush, the tea party, and fox news, and the fuckup that shot giffords turns out to be a left wing wacko, what, the they're not supposed to point it out and defend themselves?

Why is everyone so focused on the right/left sides of the argument? Obviously it has nothing to do with anything, as has been well established.

The real issues for me are

1.) gun control (IMO shouldn't be an issue here, but I can see the argument)
2.) incendiary political rhetoric intended to motivate people, typically doesn't account for crazies reading too far into it
3.) increasingly partisan politics with violent differences in opinion
3.5) provocation between parties - it's like a pissing contest of 5th and 6th grade girls trying to make each other cry

I'm sure we look pathetic to other countries who are watching us. This whole situation and public reaction to it is making me truly sad

"we" doesn't include the majority of Americans.

But for th the rest, "pathetic" would be an understatement.
"From anoher planet" would be more accurate.

BTW the debate shouldn't be about gun control in this case. It should be about what kind of discourse is allowed. Certainly not incitation to a hate crime. Palin's visual arguments couldn't be any clearer. From "Don't retreat, reload" to the use of crosshairs identifying political openents, we can see clearly what a bunch of loosenuts "that" political party accepts. Sure, Tea Party doesn't represent all Republicans, but it does regroup quite a bunch of scary extremists. I am not even sure that these guys are all welcome within the Republican party. Not the same agenda.

I see I have to remind you of the topic...guns. My post was perfectly placed. And directed perfectly. I gave you the argument you were looking for...and that's why all you have now are semantics. As usual...spelling errors, "no you said this", "no you said that" nonsense. Which brings up another point...that you have no point.

that's very interesting, but Military flintlock muskets tended to weigh approximately ten pounds, as heavier weapons were found to be too cumbersome, and lighter weapons were not rugged or heavy enough to be used in hand to hand combat. They were usually designed to be fitted with a bayonet. On modern weapons, bayonets are a last ditch weapon that rarely plays a significant role on the battlefield. On flintlocks, the bayonet played a much more significant role, often accounting for a third or more of all battlefield casualties. Flintlock weapons were not used like modern rifles. They tended to be fired in mass volleys, followed by bayonet charges in which the weapons were used much like the pikes that they replaced. Because they were used as pikes, military flintlocks tended to be approximately five or six feet in length (without the bayonet attached), and used bayonets that were approximately 18 to 22 inches in length.

You just proved my point again. Why the hell is everyone so focused on left right black white up down opposite sides? Is this fucking high school, that everyone must be labeled and grouped off and segregated? "Blah blah blah your opinion is invalid because you're lefty scum!" Time to grow the fuck up and act like adults. I'd expect this bullshit from teenagers, it's pathetic from grown men.

^ thank you for being reasonable.

By the way, I have a recipe for you guys:

1 psychotic gun owner. (note: I am not denying the existence of sane gun owners. I do not support strict gun control)

                                some of these guys:

Rush Limbaugh: "I tell people don't kill all the liberals. Leave enough so we can have two on every campus – living fossils – so we will never forget what these people stood for."
Senator Phil Gramm: "We're going to keep building the party until we're hunting Democrats with dogs."
Rep. James Hansen on Bill Clinton: Get rid of the guy. Impreach him, censure him, assassinate him."
John Derbyshire intimated in the National Review that because Chelsea Clinton had "the taint," she should "be killed."
Ann Coulter: "We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed, too."
Ann Coulter: "My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times building."
Bill O'Reilly: "ll those clowns over at the liberal radio network, we could incarcerate them immediately. Will you have that done, please? Send over the FBI and just put them in chains."
Clear Channel radio host Glenn Beck said he was "thinking about killing Michael Moore" and pondered whether "I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it," before concluding: "No, I think I could. I think he could be looking me in the eye, you know, and I could just be choking the life out -- is this wrong?"
                                1 Sarah Palin

And you get the present situation.
