Like I said, you aren't chanting hard enough yet.

The crazy thing was, I was ALWAYS hungry, I couldn't figure it out, I was too stupid, I owned it up to being huge, and just having to eat a lot. Then my girlfriend brought something up to me in terms that made sense.

She said, "You don't expect a performance car to run well on shitty gasoline, do you?"

It made so much sense, I started changing things, and found I wasn't as hungry as I was before, I learned that before I was eating, but I wasn't feeding my body, I was always hungry because my body was looking for specific types of fuel, and I wasn't putting it in the tank. I WAS STARVING even though I was eating.

I'm still not where I want to be, but I've shifted quite a lot in my mentality, I still force myself to eat veggies I wouldn't otherwise eat. It's a conseious process, and it takes years to change bad habits that were easier to continue with, but the slope from 30-40 with those habits is a lot steeper than the slope from 20-30.

you have a utopian (distopian?) view of just letting fat/stupid people die. that's fine - and sure, people should be more responsible. but they aren't. and they are never going to be - you can't solve that problem. but maybe, you could solve other problems, instead of sticking to an unworkable idealism.

it's like solving war by saying "can't we all just get along?" Well, we can't. but what can we do instead?

Why is it my problem that the next door neighbor let his fat ass balloon up to over 350+ fucking pounds?
Sounds like you're advocating Socialism to me...ideology at work.

yeah, let them die. sure. guess what? that doesn't happen in reality. also, it costs our healthcare system billions of dollars to treat fat people for diabetes, strokes and heart disease. Maybe you didn't notice skyrocketing healthcare costs? you're already paying for it, one way or another.

this is also why we need free preventive healthcare.

In an ambitious 478-page report, the IOM refutes the idea that obesity is largely the result of a lack of willpower on the part of individuals. Instead, it embraces policy proposals that have met with stiff resistance from the food industry and lawmakers, arguing that multiple strategies will be needed to make the U.S. environment less "obesogenic."
It's about how the IOM wants to take personal responsibility out of the mix. As if people don't have a choice.

Thanks to guys like you they can blame their obese arses on the rest of our society.

It's not so much an educate about what not to eat but an educate what they should eat when and how often. But I'd bet you'll find that most will remain fat fucks because they chose that path to begin with.
Taste buds need time to adjust and that time is rough. The body also goes through what I call the starvation phase. When you really start eating right and burning fat, you get hungry more often at first. The average fat fuck lazy American will give in and pound down a Big Mac. With a big fat justification as dessert.

Right there, that is over 5,500 calories without counting dinnertime, not counting if I made a late afternoon Jack-In-The-Box run, also not counting the 2 packs of cigarettes a day I was smoking, nor the high stress environment. Fuck, I was killing myself, I don't know how I thought I wasn't gonna die doing that.

It's a whole lot easier to be a fat unhealthy slob than it is to do things the right way if you've grown up in/or matured in a shitty food society.

It's a lot of work to eat healthy, it's more expensive to buy high nutrient foods, they go bad faster, it's hard to adapt to them after high processed flour/high sugar content diets, but it will change your life, and give you the ability to eat to live as opposed to living to eat.
my point exactly. you had to know that the diet was unhealthy and you probably felt unhealthy also.
can't we expect people to use common sense anymore? i mean when you see someone obviously overweight/obese and they're chowing down big macs and such, how educated does anyone need to be to know its not healthy?

it's not difficult *at all* to overconsume. we already know people are irresponsible. so what do you fix? the crappy food or the stupid people? how are you going to force people to be responsible? shoot everyone who you don't like? oh, wait.. :p

That meal alone is already over consuming for the average individual.
You can't force people to be responsible. You let them die...
Unless of course they take some responsibility to do something about it. Then as a friend or family member you help them. It's not governments roll to help fatties become less fat.
