I will in NO WAY condone these actions, but I will say that extreme punishments for breaking laws WILL have an effect in keeping people from doing stupid things. The whole cutting a hand off if caught stealing would be a much bigger deterrent than a few months of room and board and learning from more seasoned criminals how to get away with it next time or who to talk to in order to get an illegal firearm to be used for the next robbery. That next robbery that may cost the life of innocent citizens who have been conditioned to feel that owning a gun for self defense is unnecessary and "evil".

An armed society with HARSH punishments for breaking criminal law will make a positive impact on the vast majority of law abiding citizens. Too bad our country is so much more "civilized" than that, so civilized we're letting our own justice system accelerate the bowl spin.

the MN case was an attempt to pervert the notion of self defense laws, MN does not have a true Castle doctrine law on the books. No matter what Self defense laws are out there you cant shoot some one till they stop attacking then wait 5 mins and then execute them AND NOT CALL THE COPS. Shit bag should be going to jail..... Your point is just what here????

Oh that someone who broke the law, is using a statue to try and get out of jail time, (lawyer I think might have something to do with that as well) or is it that because he owns firearms that he is a scumbag ????

Dont know much about the case in Missoulla, but 1, you dont bait people into you property to steal shit, 2 you dont fire a warning shot especially with out knowing where your rounds are going to land. But really NO you dont fire warning shots no matter what the Vice President tells you to do.......... You will be the one in jail for doing so. 3 MT castle law will not save him, You have to be under threat of life or limb even in your own home , not in defense of your property hes going to jail for a long ass time. If the guy had not "baited" and "fired warning shots" or with out seeing the target, then our Castle law might keep him out of jail. If you could not see him to hit him purposefully you could not see the kid and if he was a threat or not = No castle law in effect.

Stupid exchange student you dont go into other peoples houses to take things that dont belong to you, do it long enough your likely to get shot almost anywhere in the country no just MT. Why are the germans getting involved anyway, kid was out committing felonies in the 1st place, great example to send on an exchange program. Not saying kid deserved to die, just saying play stupid games sometimes you win a even dumber prize.

Enhorn if you look for a little bit there is thread on that topic already

    Edit:

I like how guys attempt to pigeon hole 100+ million gun owners on the actions of just a fraction, of a fraction, of a fraction of owners.

HOUSTON — A mother out with her two children to go shopping became the victim of would-be purse snatchers, but a good Samaritan armed with a gun came to the rescue.

“It happened so fast,” said Brenda Vasquez, who manages the Family Dollar store in the 3400 block of Orlando Avenue in northeast Houston.

    She witnessed the assault.

“This lady opens her car door, grabs the woman’s purse and they reverse. While they’re trying to reverse, the lady is holding on to her purse still, chasing them all the way to the middle.”

That’s when a perfect stranger intervened. He happened to be in his car in the parking lot when it happened.

“And that good Samaritan came out, drew his weapon and scared them. And that’s when he pulled them out of the car.”

Someone snapped a picture of the man holding the two suspects at bay. A few minutes later, police arrived and took the male and female suspects into custody.

The man who first confronted them purchased some candy for his kids and drove away.

“The guy is something else,” said Vasquez. “He’s a hero.”

Police were not releasing the names of either the good Samaritan or the victim.

    No one was injured.

Oh then there is this one. Actual an out and about CCW this time. Favorite line form the article
"Blackmore says police eventually showed up and had to force the suspect to the ground.

Articles and videos about Marine with concealed carry permit stops man from beating woman on FOX6 News Milwaukee.

WEST ALLIS (WITI) — A Marine Corps veteran was able to stop a man early Tuesday, March 12th from nearly kicking a woman to death. It happened near 102nd and Lincoln, and Wisconsin’s concealed carry law made his efforts possible.

Charlie Blackmore was driving home from work at 4:00 a.m. along Lincoln Avenue when he saw something on the sidewalk. Blackmore didn’t realize it was a woman on the ground being kicked in the head and stomach until he got closer.

That’s when he jumped out of his car and sprung into action.

“I said ‘stop’ and he starts coming towards me and that`s when I drew on him. He started getting closer and I said ‘get down on the ground,’” Blackmore said.

Blackmore held his gun on the suspect and called West Allis police. He says several times while waiting for police to arrive, the attacker moved toward him.

“I mean I’ve already made it up in mind that if he came at me I was going to have to take him down and I told him that. I warned him multiple times not to come towards me because he was a big guy and I wasn’t playing around and he didn’t seem like he was playing around,” Blackmore said.

Blackmore says police eventually showed up and had to force the suspect to the ground. They then asked to see Blackmore’s concealed carry permit.

“I put my hands up turned around and said ‘you can grab it out of my wallet.’ Checked my permit, gave me my wallet back, and then interviewed me for their paperwork,” Blackmore said.

West Allis police say that paperwork is not yet available. For that reason, the name of the attacker and his victim have not yet been released.

“She had a really big laceration by her eye and it looked like her nose was broken,” Blackmore said.

Blackmore didn’t catch any names either, but said the victim told him the man is an ex-boyfriend.

“She was not with him anymore and he had stalked her that day or something and he attacked her on her way to work,” Blackmore said.

Blackmore says situations like this are why he supports Wisconsin’s concealed carry law, and the rights of gun owners.

“We do good things. Not all of us are bad or crazy gun nuts. There are good people,” Blackmore said.

The West Allis police chief says these types of situations really are judgement calls for gun owners. While they don’t encourage this behavior, they appreciate citizens watching out for each other as long as they do it legally and are willing to accept the consequences.
