This is going to get really bad Cheaper than dirt has suspended its firearms sales and Dicks sporting goods has pulled its firearms display's in stores and halted sales as well.

Also rumor has it Cerberus capital, (the guys who bought Chrysler) are Bailing out of Freedom arms, a manufacturer. They must figure the firearms business is not going to be profitable much longer. Wonder why

Statistically it's small comared to the way many people are killed in this country every year. But gun owners need to better educated in the safety of their firearms and the storage of them.

You clearly assumed my argument was different than it is. Clearly showing you either didn't understand what I said or you didn't want to understand what I said.
Call the number I posted and ask them for yourself.Does it matter if it's a law or not...it's wether a person actually does or does not do it.

You want to know if it is a law....call them. And if it's not? It just supports my argument that much more. We have a problem with private to private sales.
Not true, I assumed nothing about your argument, I don't even care what your argument is. I just asked a question that you apparently cannot or will not answer.

For the record, I do not believe private party sales are even a small part of the problem.

      I bid you adieu.

Again, we had an assault rifle ban. It was completely ineffective and was allowed to sunset.

But hey why address the failing economy, the rising debt, the bullshit fiscal bluff or the federal reserve..............GUNS!

Becase the media and government will use what ever the biggest/worse story is at the time to scare everybody, If gas was high it would be that, if the war was bad it would be that. Its all bullshit in the end. Give it a month and this will all settle down then the next biggest story will come out about something random and everyone will be soaking up what they are being told. People in charge are smart and good at control, and there's nothing we can do about it. Its gotten out of hand

            Is this gun really necessary?

I saw on the news yesterday the type of gun that was used.

I am all for protection etc but exactly what is the purpose of a machine gun other than to kill in significant quantity.

The ban on this type of gun should be permanent.

Are you serious? Also, that is far from a machine gun.

                  A LITTLE GUN HISTORY
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. >From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.
You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.
Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!
The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.
With guns, we are 'citizens'. Without them, we are 'subjects'.
During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

I'll have to read the report again, but I thought the shootings were done with pistols, and the AR was found in the trunk of the guys car?

No offense to you personally Javier, but these^^ are the type of people fighting so hard to increase gun laws and bans. How can people who are so uninformed on a subject think that they can know that its solution to the problem.

I agree that this bill is media spotlight pandering bullshit. The largest problem with the firearm debate is ignorance. I've only shot a few hand guns, rifles, and shot guns in the last 2 years and that has completely changed my perspective on gun ownership. When i own my own house you bet your ass i am going to become a gun owner. Its just another situation where people are so scared of something that they let irrational fear take over sound judgement. The NRA would do some good to shut up the doomsday gun nuts and get some level headed gun owners to hold some classes and provide some much needed eye opening.

I bet you watch MSNBC don't you?

Go look up gun death statistics and how many involve "assault rifles?"

Which is an asinine term anyway...........what weapon ISN'T an assualt weapon? It's just a trendy term those in favor of gun control have latched onto.

If the true issue here is school safety, which I doubt,to prevent this from happening again I suggest electronic pass doors either keycard or thumbprint for exterior doors on schools. Of course the office would have a recieving area, with a similar door to regulate access. But I know how this will be viewed;)

That gun is NO different from this gun:

And yet one is an "assault weapon" and one is not. Both guns have exactly the same capability.

                              riddle me that, batman.

nearly impossible to implement. So every single 5 year old kid needs to thumbprint themselves into the school when recess is over?
