Yeah, the folks of Oklahoma voted in Stitt. The guy that hasn't even voted in a gubernatorial race since 1999 and whose shady mortgage business has been banned from doing business or heavily fined in at least 8 states.

Not the veteran, former DA, and former educator.

Not really broseph. Oklahoma has, unfortunately for me, been the most red state in the country for decades now.

Our state legislature constantly passes bills that aren't even legal under our state constitution just so they can pander to the religious base here.

Shit, I read an article a few years ago saying that Tulsa had the highest % of the adult population that attended church regularly IN THE COUNTRY. Just last month our gas stations and grocery stores allowed to sell full strength beer and wine!

Sure it does. You're posting on the internet aren't you? You drive to work on streets I assume? You attended some form of public education, yes? You've interacted with police or fire officials possibly? Why do Republicans like Socialism until it comes to healthcare and I have no idea why.


But you're right, treating people without health insurance in the ER is much cheaper than giving them access to preventative care. And we still pay for it through higher insurance and hospital costs.

So would you rather be on the hook for the tens of thousands it will cost, when a diabetic (unbeknownst to them) crashes, goes to the ER and stays for a few days as they stabilize, etc. Or have them find out they are diabetic, or even pre-diabetic, before hand and either get the treatment they need or make the lifestyle adjustments to fix it.

It's pooled risk to lessen the blow of economic misshap. The idea goes all the way back to Chinese merchant ships. If I put all my goods on one ship and it sinks, I lose everything. If I spread my merchandise between 4 ships and one goes down, I haven't lost everything.


Do you self-insure your car? Do you insure your home through another company?
