Because people are morons. Many folks don't understand that if you aren't into drugs, guns, prostitution, the likely hood that you would ever be face-to-face with an honest-to-God gang banger is basically 0.

Another of Trump's close collaborator is indicted. The soft list has 7 indictments, each of them punishable from between 5 and 20 years in prison. This is the "soft" list for if Stone collaborates. If he refuses, then he will be served with a much longer list of indictments.
