My interpretation of the intent wasn't "get an e30 around the track the fastest", it was to backdate the intent of the CS to the M3 platform.
I think we went a little off the rails in some aspects in order to give the M3 a fighting chance, but he was pretty strict with some aspects (Control arms, tie rods, rack, geometry in general)

Ah cheers, I misinterpreted it. I skipped around and didn't give my 100% attention to the videos, which isn't fair but watching anything on the youtubes as of late is rare for me.

From the first video the "keep up with / beat the new car". I just figured if you're going to give it a fighting chance... aim high. I get there is always a budget too, but obviously there's always opinions.

Those other builds I linked I thought were on the level I kinda had hoped they'd set as the target. But I'm biased, because again, those are some of my faves of all time.

This isn't hating on or jealousy, I applaud the efforts and building each episode obviously we don't know where it will end up. Maybe this is only phase 1, and other phases will come later.

Maybe in the next episode we see it does what they set out to do, and it beats the new CS?

If you want a CS version of the E30 and you start with a e30 M3 to keep in the spirit of what BMW have done you would build a light weight e30 M3 with 2.7 stroker, fully built engine ( cams, ported head, carbon airbox etc). That would be actually interesting.
89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...

The rear shocks are MCS in the finale video. Maybe the orange shocks were placeholders and left in b-roll footage. Anyway, the last video is out!

Saw it this morning, cheers. The little sneak peak at season 2 has me intruiged too, I have a basic idea of what it is, but obviously details will come later.

So HER / E30 CS - you guys have any takers on the challenge for your E30 M3 CS ?

Also would be cool to see more of the details of the suspension adjustment you have in the rear, I know it was shown in a prior video some - but I know there are plenty out there who don't care for the serrated adjustment that is popular.

So what's going on here - I didn't get a good look at it but he mentioned e36 arms.
                    Are they E36 MCS?
So no roll centre/bump steer correction? Is he running a metric fuckton of caster? any upsides?

Aluminum arms, playing with upsizing front bar/removing rear bar seem like low hanging fruit.
Undertray/basic underbody aero would be an easy one, and pretty easy to justify. I don't know if the wing/splitter were played with, I mean the driver sounded happy at least.

Otherwise, a modern ECU, ABS, and shedding more weight...
