Its 2025 who is using there e30 for track days. Include a few words and Pictures.

As AN Old Guy My plan is to regularly get to the track and AX coarse at least once a month for the next few years before I am too old. I am inching towards and AX by September and Possible track day in October. I need to have an oil pan baffle installed and I am ready. Future plans after a year of experience are Roll over bar with cross brace, Proper seats, Z4m radiator, pusher fan, coil overs and an ignition system upgrade to my M20.

Selfishly I thought it would be fun to see Who is still going to the track or AX with their E30 or are building an AX, track car or dual-purpose Tool?

Boomer status. Snapped this pic from the garage PC while installing an MK60E5 ABS unit into the car. Still loving the e30 as a track weapon.

Looks properly developed. Glad to see your still loving the e30. What has kept you from moving on to a different chassis? Looking back 10 years, I decided the e30 was a good mix of driving dynamics, affordable consumables and it's not a Honda Civic or a MX-5.

I guess I can play this game. Finally got around to racing my E30 last month after six years of bouncing between other car projects... S14 still hanging in! Runs great! Working on styling it after a Group A car, complete livery should be done soon.

Yeah that e30 m3 is sexy as hell. To respond on why I still have an e30, its because I have too much money into it lol. It can turn decent laps still, im hoping with the new MK60E5 ABS and MCS suspension I can crack into the high 35's at road atlanta with my old ass ex NASA GTS3 / BMWCCA DM car thats running a junkyard 2.8 with who knows how many miles.

                  Skafrog,

The Cost on any old car build stacks up quickly but chasing Goals at the track can up faster. With that said if you're having fun then you are optimizing your spare time. Do you use a camera? It would be more than cool to see some in car footage someday.

Question for moatilliatta, Zacspeed. Your E30 looks like it's built for track use. Any track or AX time?

I have very little time/availability to go to the track, but I still take mine out. I haven't had time to spec out a proper suspension for it, so people laugh and comment on all of the body roll I have. Old Bilsteins, H&R sports, only a front sway bar because my car is an early 318i, whatever, it's still fun. I put in a set of Cobra seats and find them a good balance for a car that sees more street than track time. Currently running 205 width tires on a 7" wide wheel because it's already a lot more grip than the suspension can handle.

Just remember, track days are about having fun and enjoying your car. It doesn't matter what parts you have on it, what run group you're in, or what your lap times are as long as its safe and reliable.

I fully endorse this statement. I call it OSAH. Old, Slow and Happy.

                        Let's see the 318i.

Here's mine, followed a similar path where I started out with autocross then got more into HPDE track days.
