I meant to type "oversteer", sorry.

Yea, the rear was twitchier with the rear bar on full stiff, but initial turn in still plowed like a pig. After I put the camber plates in, the turn in was much nicer, and I went down to a softer setting on the rear bar, definetly made the car more driveable.

Swing wild, brake later, don't apologize.

Mostly stock motored M20 325is. Turner J stock springs with the custom valved bilsteins, RRT -2 degree fixed camber plates, suspension techniques swaybars on 205 RA1s on 14 inch basketweaves. Stock rotors, SS lines with Hawk blues, HP+'s & HPS's for pads.

Corbeau Forza seat, VSR rollbar, Canon Zr100 DV camera on the ioport rollbar camera mount. Rare european rubber chicken mod.

I don't have too much experience, I have done half a dozen autocrosses in my car, all but one was with this setup minus the anti-rolls and one autocross (just today) with this complete setup:

            1991 318is
            K&N filter
            MarkD Chip
            Dynomax Muffler
            IE stage III Springs
GC Koni SA - top adjustable
            M3 offset CABs
IE Urethane rear subframe bushing (street)
            IE Urethane TA bushings (street)
            new tie rods, control arms
            new OEM strut bearing mounts
IE Big Sways with reinforced rear trailing arm tab
(front medium setting, rear fairly soft)
16x7 SSR Comp wheels with 205/50-16 Hankook RS-2s
            4.10 small case LSD
            JB Racing Aluminum Flywheel

The car has slight understeer from what I can tell, I haven't had it at the maximum limit much. It tranistions well, but I hate how slow the steering is and I have some friction in my front anti-roll that causes it to stick and preload the tire that was last laden (so my car pulls slightly right after hard right turns because the anti-roll can't completely unload). I searched for some lubricants, but all I could find was some spray lubricant. Any suggestions for a lubricant suitable for urethane bushings? Thanks. I hope to hit a track day soon and then I can better judge the cars balance.

Welcome to Trillium chapter auto-x. All low-speed technical courses, you'll never come out of 2nd for the entire session. Maybe 1 guy will wear a helmet out of the entire group.

                  Post,

My brother has a 95 Avus with Gruppe N spec Bils and HR Race springs. How do you like your setup? 255 fit without any rubbing?

The setup is optimized for SCCA Solo2 G-stock class competition:

                    1991 318is
IE 25mm adjustable hollow front sway bar
BMW 0.5 degree offset strut mounts
GC Koni SA - top adjustable
New tie rods, control arms, steering rack
                    14x6.5 basketweaves
                    205/55R14 Hoosier R3S03
                    4.10 LSD
                    SS brake lines

I've only had one event with it so far and yes - the slow steering is not the best thing. Other than that, very happy with my first RWD race car.

redcarbon - my car is very similar to yours! There's a special super-sticky grease for bushings. Just search for "bushing grease".

She hasn't been to the track yet, will be seeing a lot of VIR/RoadAtlanta this spring/summer though. I hope to run the full autocross season as well... hopefully this thing will hold a candle to my old 318's handling, only with a little less understeer.

Are they harsh on the street?

A little more NHV, but it's worth it. Turn-in is sharp and steering inputs are very, VERY accurate and responsive. Definitely recommend them.
