using this logic you can assume that taking an IS lip off the car will cause the same phenomenon...... but i digress.... the duct are what they are and if you dont like them... thats ok ... its still a 40 dollar upgrade over the stock ones which fall out during track events....

Id rather see plates designed to hold the duct in place, but I really cant see it hurting anything. If anything, it will just be barely efficient.

asubimmer, you crack me up! I cant beleive you are college educated.

With his brake setup he'll never ever ever experience fade unless he runs street pads or something. With or without ducting.

sheesh what a pointless argument. yes, having a backing plate probably is more efficient. not having one will not automatically cause your car to fly off the track due the "lift" generated and cause massive death and destruction either..

The lift argument is not entirely invalid but most of you with M20s will rarely ever see the kind of speeds where it becomes a factor.

im not sure that even on a high speed track that i will do over 150... but there is an e36 m3 over at bimmerforums that has done 160 with a similar setup... so i think the ducting is sound

Excuse me, asubimmer, what was your major while in college? I am thinking communications. That explains why your oral skills are matchless.

and once again, I didn't say that having the hoses like that will make your car take off. But adding air under the car is never good. If you don't understand how a wing works then maybe its time to go back a few grades. A sedan will never have downforce, but you want to do all you can to reduce lift.

well you should add a front lip and is splitter on your car ... so the car will stay planted still i digress.... i just decided to put pics up incase anyone wanted to replicate a ducting kit at the fraction of the cost.

My car doesn't have anything on the front right now. I'm getting a SP1 BMP front bumper ready to go on the car for now. Its replacing the plastic bumper w/ an 87' 325is air dam. Although I'll prob get rid of it in a while. But yes on the track you want your lip/splitter as close to the ground as possible.
