I dont see why you say the sedan is so much less aerodynamic than the coupe. Please back up your claims.Adding any air under the car isn't good period. That doesn't mean you will be flying to the moon if you do stupid things like not using backing plates. But having a boxy car means that little things like this are more importaint. Just like you mentioned the splitter and needing a large rear wing. Little things like canards, on the track can take seconds off laps! Again, a sedan won't ever see downforce but you should do all you can to reduce lift.
In short...This setup is just going to limit the potential of your car under most circumstances. Although it could aid in the destruction of your car, you and/or others in unforeseen events.
Personally I think you are talking straight out of your ass.Comment

the e30 coupe IS a sedan
I'm not sure you know much about cars. A sedan is a vehicle w/ an A, B, and C pillar. It has nothing to do w/ how many doors there are...
And I use the term sedan lightly, more just a production car. Not either a proto or f1, etc. An f1 car has roughly a 2:1 downforce to weight ratio. Try and drive your production car belly up in a tunnel. You won't ever even get close to a 1:1 ratio in a "sedan"/production car.
and personally I think you are a dumbass but why should you care?Last edited by asubimmer; 02-07-2009, 09:51 AM.///Alpinweiß II 24v 91' 318is, Alpinweiß III 99' 323i, 04' Yamaha R6 SE for sale, 00' VW GTi, 83' El Camino BURNED, 01' P71sold, 92' Miatasold

hows that? Cause I know what I'm talking about and you are some 14yr old that looks at his daddy's cars in the driveway? If you don't know what you are talking about then you shouldn't be posting or calling other ppl out. Come back in a few years buddy...
and not to get too hard on you but learn how to speak english. I know its not proper to correct in red because its a "mean" color, but hell I'm not a teacher.///Alpinweiß II 24v 91' 318is, Alpinweiß III 99' 323i, 04' Yamaha R6 SE for sale, 00' VW GTi, 83' El Camino BURNED, 01' P71sold, 92' Miatasold

He's not really adding air he's re directing it...Adding any air under the car isn't good period. The way he's done it isn't the "Hot Setup" like we do with ducting to a rotor core cooling plate... but it's no worse than the original ducting.Comment

Yeah I got the PM. Did you really need to bring my attention into a thread like this?
Asubimmer has experience and voiced his concerns. Even though he came under scrutiny he stood by his view and made a good amount of counter arguments to back himself up.
What did you want to bring to my attention here?
The fact thats he is debating intelligently and you don't like his point of view in 'your' thread...?
I really am not sure what you expected me to do here p0cket?
This is your thread about something you did on your car... If it works and is popular then many will follow suit.Comment
