Oh ok... hmm... very tempted. I would still have to get a new manual transmission set up would I not? So add like $500 to that and I'm set?

I'll have to go to the bank on Monday and look at my financial options.

I heard it was a JDM b17 swap.

Autoban should be a last resort for any part you need. Their prices are way high. I am surprised that they can come close to Robert's deal and as Matt stated Robert has the correct parts for the E30 swap. Knowing your skills with the E30 you are better off just fixing what you have.

                      Cheers,

                      Jim

My car is currently autotragic so I'd have to get a 5 speed first. the next question is, does it need a small or large guibo?

Second... that's a far drive man. That's like 1 tank of gas. :(

It can be whichever guibo you want as long as you get the driveshaft with the trans.

Robert man, you change your mind every 3 days dude.

It needs whatever size your output/driveshaft flange is.

To be honest it doesn't sound like it would be done by bimmerfest.

Do m20 head gasket. Way easier. And you probably won't run into any small problems that can set you back huge amounts of time.

Also, if a tank of gas is a deal breaker, you don't really want it that bad.

If you're set on 24v anyway, I say just do a new hg and bolts. It'll run you less than $50 and hold you over till summer. The 'do-it-right-ers' might disagree, but that's what I'd do in your situation considering money/time/circumstance.
