With the box in the back, it brings the weight distribution to 55F/45R. Still bad, but feels SO MUCH BETTER when balancing on throttle than it did without the box. This is why I vow to own a Formula Ford or Formula Vee for track use...I hate to compromise like this.
I'm a big audiophile anyway. Time without music is hard, and when away from my Genelec monitors at home, I become sad...
You know the funny thing was in the back of my head I was figuring you were trying to balance out the weight but I didnt think a few speakers and a sub would make enough of a difference.
I'm an audiophile as well but not really big on bass anymore. I am more of a highs to mid kind of guy. If you have monitors at home then you are truly a hardcore enthusiast.
I'm not about drowning out my car sounds by playing everything really loud. I actually prefer a silent car with a decent audio system. I was really surprised on how good the rear deck stock speakers were.-Art

When the sub+amps+enclosure add 75-100lbs, its quite a big difference in how the car handles. It did make the car lazier, but it is more predictable, rotates closer to center of the car rather than on the nose. On a fun note I don't think I would be good with something as significant as a rear engine Porsche. The consequences of lift-throttle oversteer scare me enough that I have not developed the confidence for it. Therefore I spend a ton of time in iRacing running Spec Racer Ford and Skip Barber Formula to learn that throttle balance. It sure does teach proper late-apex because otherwise your pushing the front off the track.
About the CF hood, I've only heard (and I believe it) that it is a significant difference, mostly because it is weight up high, even if its only 8-20lbs. I believe the savings is closer to 10lbs. If I was that serious I would delete the sunroof, and then while I am at it just build a full on race car with DTM suspension. Hence me rather buying an open wheel single seater instead to be "serious."
Art, I totally understand, I can only take bass in short bursts, and the turntable isn't happy with it ;-) However the Genelecs I have (1030As) are tiresome up high, a common complaint, even though they are tearfully accurate.Last edited by R3Z3N; 01-02-2013, 10:52 PM.

I honestly don't know what to think. I feel disappointed by both the installers and the manufacturer. The installers cranked up everything. It hit amazingly hard, but the sub lasted a month or so.
I've been wanting a Lukebox but one for sale in LA slipped through my fingers, so for now I'm stuck with an Alpine Type aRghh

^I have 3 relays on my fuse box like that, and the box has several accessory clips built onto it, as do the fuses to clip to eachother.
Leaving to Oregonia for a roadtrip to move my bro. Woot! Right now though I'd rather be curled up in bed...too early. Too bad said roadtrip is taking place in a Toyota suv something....I'd rather bomb up there in the E30.

Nice. That's one of the jobs I'm not sure I want to do myself. How long did it take you?"I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

Barry it's really not as bad as most people make it out to be. it's about 45min to pull, 6 hours to clean, paint, change bushings, and diff seals. and about an hour to get it back in. and then you have to bleed the system. you need a wheel bearing tool, trailing arm bushing tool, a puller and a press. the tools srsly cost 2x more than the parts to refresh.
