My brand new radiator that was installed last week just took a shit on me today... I've spent over $2000 on this POS in the last two weeks and now the brand new parts are breaking. Fuck me.

                Dude.

We told you not to swap an e30 for this car. Or if we didn't tell you, we were all thinking it.

But don't give up now. Own this and make the car right. You owe it to yourself.

So it turns out its pretty common for Bosch 044 fuel pumps to overheat and stop working. I'm going to install a TRE 255lph as an in tank helper pump. Hopefully that will reduce the current draw and reduce the temps.

Ya I know. And honestly I love it so much better than my old e30. It's a V8 and a 5 speed. If I had a V8 swapped e30 I'd have never traded it. But future goals. And idk why the new radiator broke that's just a fail at life.

Im trying to find a certain thread that had all the part #s for the reinforcement pieces that are added to cabriolets... I think it was a project car thread with something that had a crazy swap under the hood.
I was just thinking about this a few day ago. I had to find it

You can't own a 20 year old BMW and take it to the shop for everything. Especially when you're young and in school. The shop charged you guys top dollar and probably installed the cheapest Chinese parts that WorldPac had to offer. Shops have warranties though so take it back!

I have no sympathy for car guys that take their shit to a shop for DIY maintenance. Hell, the only reason I still do my own oil changes is because I know what oil is going in and that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It's usually cheaper, faster and easier to have it done. But if anything, I like to know what brand parts are going in and have some confidence they'll plug my hole for a while. Unless they went with Lemfoerder or Meyle control arms (which I'm doubting), expect to have those ball joints go in a year or two again.

I'd be hard pressed to say a 3L V8 is more fun than my m20...but that's a matter of opinion. Best of luck and I hope the shop will stand behind their crap.

The shop will it's owned by a family friend of 30 years who just bought it a few months ago. The only reason why the shop did it is because we had it in for tires and the control arm things I can't do. My dad was paying for it because he said he'll fix my car or buy me a shit civil for college. He just had them throw the radiator in too because it had sprung a leak the day before we took it in. I am very capable and have done plenty of maintenance on my own cars but when it's my Dad's money no matter how much it costs at a shop he'll have them do it and won't let me just buy the parts online and do it myself. It sucks but it's his money. I got my first job and I get my first paycheck next month. And yes it's all going to go to my car. I will eat top ramen forever if it means I can drive Emma =P
