Sounds like somebody didn't properly secure the thermostat to water pump hose.

I had the OEM retaining clip but it must've broken off while I was out of town :(

Gahh. Drove ~100 miles round trip from Diamond Bar up to Tarzana and back on my sick day home from work for a bumper that was described as "perfect" and "really nice" though it was cracked and warped upon close inspection in person. And I'm getting tired of this cold / allergy thing or whatever it is.

Reminds me of the time i went to buy tail lights and was assured they were really clean only to find cracks and leakage when I got there. The seller's response..."oh you want perfect? then you gotta buy them new. These ARE clean...for 25 year old lights." WTF? MF'er I asked if they were clean and flawless without any cracks. People have their own definitions of clean and flawless.
