Ive got bigger fish to fry. I really need to focus my play money on my project, and not a monthly car payment. Luckily Im about to make a big purchase towards my project car and it should help extinguish the Porsche fire considering it will make my project essentially a Porsche 944s with a Gazelle body on it.

What will that look like?Comment

A "just for shits n giggles" mockup of the body using jackstands and some old ATS wheels I had left me with this
As it stands now, it will have a full 944S drivetrain (2.5 16v ~190bhp), porsche 5 lug and will have a custom frame. Those previous references to needing metal was to build the frame to hold this all together. I want skinny Porsche steel wheels for it, but the damn people want crazy prices, so wheels will be much later down the line
I have threads posted in various places with little attention haha Most recently settled on locost.com because Im using their approach at building the frame and theres lots of crazy builds on that site, that I fit right in with my crazy idea.Simon

This is not a GTR. Not unless it's been converted as a project but then, it wouldn't "really" be a GTR. Similar to throwing m3 parts on a 325i sedan and calling it an M3...kinda. There are no 4 door r34 GTRs. THe only 4 door r34s were the er34 and en34 if I remember correctly. None of which has the monster rb26 the car is known for. It's still an r34 though, which are all super rare here admittedly. Just not what the ad title isComment

It's still a Skyline sedan in Socal interesting. There was a Nissan Cefiro a week or two ago in the Canyon Country area I thought was pretty cool for 10k. Never know what you'll find on craigslist.

Yea it is still an r34. Still a rare find. I wonder how it's legal here though. The cefiro I can understand because it's now old enough to be registered in California. It's the same with the r32 skylines, but the r34 is still too recent i thought. Maybe an out of state registration?Comment

I know for a fact their are three r32s in the valley one of which is a legit Mines GTR. Tony Fuch has one on Reseda and another guy is building one out here in Palmdale. I'm completely clueless on how to get these things over here legally.

Oh no that's what im saying. The r32's are legal to import here now because they're old enough now. But the 34's are still not there yetComment

legal....doesn't stop drugs, prostitution, murders, kidnapping, slavery.
Just drive the damn car, it's not like it's a gun that kills on its own.Comment

Both. I would have a MUCH smaller payment with the E30 sold and I would also have one less car I would want/need to modify
Id love a 911, but honestly I would prefer a mid engine Porsche and you can get a Cayman S that would be better in every way for less a run of the mill mid 80s 911... the problem is that even the Cayman S would only be better in a few ways than my E30, but the negatives are much more (cost of ownership, cost of insurance AND having a car payment)sigpicComment
