[QUOTE=kronus;n10075431]
move back!
/QUOTE]
I want to but I don't make tech boi money.
After I get the 718, I have on order, we should be able to save enough money in 2 years. If the market stays stable. If it keeps going crazy, we will probably move to texas or somewhere else warm.Comment

Anyone have recommendations for bodywork and paint in the Central/NorCal area?

If I put (theoretically) 50% down on a 500k house, I'd still have to pay a good bit over 500k for the house after down payment. Fucking ridiculous. My wife is terminally ill so I'd have to do it pretty much on my own, the last payment would be well into my 70's unless there was some miraculous windfall of money in the future. Guess I'll stay renting.Comment

I just recently started looking to buy for the first time too. Thought I was doing better than most, had about 60k cash set aside as a nice down payment, but started running all the numbers and just instantly gave up lol.

yeah this market is insanity, I myself have been living with family for a while now and its been getting to the point where we need our own space. I'm currently weighing my options renting a home in the sacramento area, unfortunately that's where work is for me LOL.
I'm still 17 :P not much, just grinding thru life.Comment

To bring a small glimmer of hope to this... we did manage to get a house at the end of March this year. One of my best friends (who I met via BMW meets and drives) is a realtor now and a damn good one I might add. He kept networking with other realtors until he found a solid house coming to market soon, but not yet listed on MLS. He learned through a few conversations with the listing agent that the sellers had a lot of medical bills and upcoming treatments within the family and wanted a quick close to have some liquid cash. He hustled his ass off, and though the official record says we closed in 14 days it was actually 5 business days. The lender was the worst part of the whole deal because they were sloppy with details and didn't communicate as well, but in the end everything went smooth, just fast and STRESSFUL. At 39 I finally have a place of my own, a garage for the cars, and the most peace and freedom I've ever had in my life. Still a long road ahead of us of course, but my little family is super happy.
If anyone needs an amazing person on their side, let me know and I'll share his name and contact info. Yes Cali is expensive, but that's because it's so god damn desirable. Nowhere else can you be in 7 different climates within 4 hours of just about anywhere within the state. The weather is amazing for the most part, we've got every culture in the world represented here, I grew up in San Diego, LA and now the SF bay area and I've never wanted to HAVE to leave. Really glad I didn't give up too easy.
