Damn, just found out my mom paid $700 for four tires mounted and balanced on her van. $96 per tire for some off brand stuffz. That other $300 was just to mount balance and dispose of old stuff. Does that sounds right??

My mom didn't even know what they did to her car. They gave her an alignment as well. She just paid. The mount/balance price was $15 but shafted her with other little fees. She could've gotten a better deal overal, but she was able to settup a plan for every month with her charge card so it worked out better.

Either way Sears sucks. $91 for a falken 912 when they are $70ish other places.

I mounted my Toyos at de anza using a hunter, very cool.

Otherwise I usually pay $5-10 a wheel to mount and balance.

Hell, I just priced out Michelin AS/3 235/45/17 & 255/40/17 for the e34 and it came out to around 800. I wouldn't go back to sears lmao

My mom wants me to go through sears so she does not have to pay the money all at once.

They just quoted me $760 for a set of goodyears mount balance disposal alignment and road hazard. Wayy too much, and I am almost positive they can't do alignments on e30's.

Do you guys usually buy road hazard safety?

Not usually. The warranty is like another 20 per tire isn't it? $80 buys a lot of tire repair kits

It could by economically viable in certain scenarios, just not mine.

                  Yeah $15-20 most places.

I've never read what tire warrantys cover, but my main concern would be uneven wear.

"Road hazard" warranty is different than the standard warranty which comes by default.

Tire rack reimburses $25 max per occurrence of road hazard for 36 months.

I'm not sure what sears's policy is, but I'd imagine it's similar.

I've never had an issue with uneven wear that wasn't attributed to the car/suspension, which in a lot of cases, you won't get a replacement but rather prorated for new ones.

I think that I am going to have to go through sears because my next months rent is coming up, and I cannot afford tires.

How much do you guys usually expect to pay for a set of four new tires mounted/blanced etc? I just need some all season tires that will last me a long time.

                        tire size?

New michelins on my 190D turbo were less than $300. Wish it was always that easy.

Hell, they don't even need to last me a suer long time, just be a good tire. I just don't need anything super special.

There's hella tires to choose from tire rack for way under $100 a tire.

I don't see why you couldn't have them shipped to a shop and installed for $5-15 a wheel and the total come out to around 4-450, easily

I will figure something out. This is a hassle.

Has anyone here done 205/50 on 16x8? I think that is what size I want.
