pretty much. Ive done the Seattle -> Bay Area drive at least a dozen times and it is extremely boring in Oregon. To make it better, I recommend taking 101 while you're in CA, because the rest of the way is pretty much flat and boring. One spot in Oregon is fun as you are going through the mountains, but its a 55 zone and I never do 55 so its sketchy.
That being said, if you've never been to the E30 Picnic, it is something you should do at least once, with or without your own E30. Driving it up there adds to the experience, but yea nearly a thousand miles each way for a gtg isnt too exciting. Make a mini vacation out of it and it will be a blast. Go to Leavenworth if you have some extra time.

the whole floor and doors are dynamated in my blue car, now need to do the firewall and the ride will be a lot better. the stromung may be a bit droney but im sure the stereo will help. if we take 101 that makes it 2 days, im not willing to do that. and with 3 drivers we can all take turns. coilovers are max-up and may bring a second pan as a just in case but betting we'll be fine.
only an e30 driver would bring a spare oil pan on a roadtrip
dat paranoia.
BTW guys - I'll be doing the ~600 mile Hwy 5 San Diego - Hwy 101 - 1 North from SLO drive next Saturday (stopping in SB/Goleta to see the girlie) then hittin the road for San Francisco
If anyone's in the way holla at me !
My car will be stuffed with junk with bikes on top.. :p
