Haha might have been that - haven't been home for sleep/out of the office much in the last few days :(

I just have the ignition cylinder with a key or two.

Some kook (is/used to be on r3v) offered to rekey my entire car and fucked it up.

So I use 2 keys - one for igntion, one for doors.

It'd be cool to rekey everything but it's an unnecessary cost ATM for me.

You can have my ingition cyclinder + keys for free if you wash my car nice! :D

(it saw less than 4 months of use until I cashed out big tyme for a VIN matched ignition cyl. straight from the motha land).

HMU, LBV u have my #.

I'll tell Ameed0e to come over when u come so we can haz brownfest '14.

Honestly it is kind of a crap shoot, most LSDs are worn out at this point and a lot of them are noisy, yet annoyingly most open diffs are quiet. But you can replace the output bearings/seals and clutches relatively easily (though clutches will run you about $200). The ring and pinion and input bearing are a bit harder to change.
Thanks for the tip. I'll probably have more questions later.

Anyways I'm in virginia and the night before I left, my ignition cylinder took a shit. Just jammed and wouldn't turn past position 1, I had to get it towed home. Is this hard to replace and does anyone have a lock set with keys? I'd assume I have to replace both doors, trunk, glovebox, and ignition just to have them all match.
It might be worth spraying a little silicone in the tumbler and trying that. Locks need to be lubed from time to time. Graphite lock spray is another way to go. It might be that the pins are just dry and need some attention. Look at it this way, if it works you are out a can of lock spray, if it doesn't you are only out a can of lock spray.

              Hey All,

I have everything I need to rebuild and do a short shift conversion on my eta - Can't wait to banish the sloppy shift action - I know a few of you have done this in the past. Are there any tricks to getting this done?

              TIA

you have an eta so you will need , the late carrier, late bushing, late rear carrier mount, bitch clip, z3 1.9 shift lever, zhp knob, garagistic delrin bushings, new selector bushing, and sponge. plan for 2 hours and you dont need to take off the exhaust, just drop all the supports and let it sit on a jack. then remove the heat shield. this is the only way to do the rear carrier mount.

Yup, got all that. Well, laying out the parts, I realized I didn't have the shift rod joint but I've got that on the way now too.

Appreciate the advice. Looking forward to getting this done - maybe next weekend assuming the part arrives.
