It took me about two weeks of only having a harsh track car as a DD before I couldn't take it any more.

I always thought I would be fine with an unrefined raw car, until I lived with one. It's a lot nicer to something else to drive 95% of the time.

Daily drivers exist so that the fun car doesn't get annoying.

This is true and I'm not gonna go full spec with this one. Billy/HR sports, stickier tires and a manual swap and probably call it at that. Might swap it down the road but that remains to be seen. E30's have my heart and my wallet so the E36 will be kept up as usual but if someone wants it, they can have it. That being said, I'm not just gonna take the 1st offer that comes up, I am in no hurry to off load it but it is available

Believe me, I get it. I did the same (but reversed) with my E30 once I bought the now-s54 car. I miss having an e30, but not particularly that e30. Mine had bilsteins/eibach pro kit, lsd, manual, hilariously oil-burney m20, because-racecar no ac/ps, and was a blast.

Mine doesn't chug any fluids that I've noticed yet, it's got a war chip and the Miller PSIK and it's on cheap JOM's. Which are terrible. No ABS or booster and I kinda really like that brake feel.

its ok, I think you're still young enough to make mistakes. I say I will never sell my E30, but if someone wanted it bad enough and offered me enough I would sell it too..

Well the thing is, I was randomly offered 11 for it and now that's what I think it's worth. I don't know the guy and I didn't get his number. I don't think anyone will pay 11 for it purely for the fact that it's an auto. Does this mean I should swap it after all and ask 11 then? Or take the 8 or 9 or whatever comes my way?

A very good condition M3/4/5 would be 10-13k range depending on history, mileage, etc factors. A mint M3/4/5 a friend's consignment company sold, cosmos/Modena, with low miles great history top-shelf maintenance records and some nice mods went for $13k. I'd be asking $10-11k range for my sedan, were I to sell it.

Equivalent condition M3/4/A, cut 4-8k off the bat unless you find a unicorn buyer. Very few enthusiasts would want them, and Joe Blow on craigslist won't pay that much for a 20 year old high maintenance car.

Sucks, but them's the breaks. Very few people would pay manual m3 money for an auto (although, manual swapping it might scare off buyers too). The color itself is very polarizing, as people either love it or think it looks terrible. The rarity of the color, to the right buyer, will add back some value, but not to equivalent manual money.

Keep it clean, keep the miles low and take it to public car events and see if you can get another crazy offer

This is the plan, I'll put a mini FS sign in a quarter window or something.
