    A) Your grammar sucks for someone who's going to UCLA. Try to take the time to put together a coherent sentence that's not riddled with teenage abbreviations and you may get a bit more respect.

    B) Let me re-summarize what's wrong with "Running The Canyons". Just because you haven't had an accident out there doesn't make it safe. What don't you get about that? Here are the points I made in a previous post...I believe all you could say was "Yeah, well, it hasn't happened to me so it's not dangerous!!1111"

On public roads, there are always factors you can't control; animals, sand/gravel, THE OTHER DRIVERS, etc.

On a race track all of those things are cancelled out.

What don't you understand about that?

Your attitude is just like that of every other punk kid that thinks he's a hot shit driver and is in total control. One day someone might pull out from a side road right in front of you and in that split second before you t-bone the hell out of their car, the point I'm making will hit home.
It's called a FORUM, which is on the internet. As far as my grammar is concerned, it's just to my liking. I simply prefer to type in long, run-on sentences when I'm on the forums, because I have the freedom to do so. I write whatever comes to my mind, and i don't worry about how it comes out. This site is not a professional setting where issues like grammar truly matter. I could give a rat's ass about your grammatical, or syntactical judgment, I'll leave that to my professors (they actually have the right to do so). This argument gains validity considering the fact that you dropped out of school. By the way, I've received above average marks on all my writing assignments at school, so please get off my back.
I never said that I was trying to race or push the limits of my car in the canyons. Please prove to me where I specifically implied that notion, and I will rightfully commend you for it. I could care less if you chose to take the safe and sound route, I try to for the most part. We are all individuals, with our own free will, therefore you can keep your high and mighty comments to yourself -- DOUCHE BAG! :finger: I'm done with this thread.

T.J. That may be, but I grew up in the canyons he is using as a playground and have many a story to tell.

I lived through several close calls that include people pulling out of their driveway in front of idiots speeding to idiots hitting something slick & going into someones living room.

I lived to tell the tale but I know people that were not as lucky.

In the early 80's L.A. was crowded but nothing like today. The streets are not for racing.

I lived on Beverly Glen, canyon far left. All of these roads were built in the 20's they were in the boonies and had small houses, they were meant to allow north south passage into/out of the Valley and were not meant for the type of traffic they see today.

If you look at the spot where there is a curve on Beverly Glen, you will see a major point of accidents. There is a light there and when there is alot of traffic during a red light cars back up. A kid "doing what he wants" rear ended my Mom sitting at that light. She was hurt. Is that ok?

You sound a lot more intelligent when you use proper grammar.

Now don't go slamming your car into any immovable objects out there in the canyons.

Tell that to Nostradamus, Shakespeare, or any other classical author. You do not realize now but the internet is in it's infantcy. In a hundred years, your posterity and general public will read your every word, and judge your brain power by the words you left as grafitti stains on the WWW. This is another subject for another thread though. Maybe you should pose the question to your UCLA teachers.

Ben, Thank you even though we have not met, you are the youthful exception to the rule. Thanks for being a young guy without his head planted firmly up his own keister.

                I know.

This reminds me of an accident I was a passanger in. My friend was a very good driver, knew the canyons like the back of his hand. He had alot of skills. Carpentry, home and car alarm installatin, auto tech etc. and had a wealthy family. He had money and he earned money.

As a result he always had everything he wanted. After having 4Xs all through H.S. he got a 280ZX (this was new in the early 80's) he drove it for a year and traded it for a highly modded turbo GTI which was a monster but was fwd & had severe torque steer due to being an early powerful fwd car.

I went with him to pick it up and we went to my house on Beverly Glen to drop off my car and go to his house on Coldwater Canyon. Naturally we took Mulholland.

Within 5 miles we had run head on into an older lady in a very nice (before we hit it) 3.0CS. She broke her arm and I hurt my knees.

He had owned the car for under two hours and it was totaled.

IMHO the primary cause of the accident was his lack of familiarity with the car plus perhaps something slick on the road plus we should not have been speding on Mulholland.

I acknowledge it is fun to "drive spiritedly" but there is a time and place, and just because 'OTHER PEOPLE DO IT" DOES NOT MAKE IT RIGHT.

Shit happens, even on tracks, but if it happens on a street you are risking your life, and someone elses life. At least on a track /hpde/time trials etc you won't be blamed for shit as you happen to crash/damage your car in a safe environment etc. There are too many variables when you do something like this on a street/road, other drivers, road condition, animals, etc etc.

                  Sigh

i sincerely apologize for posting this thread from the get go. i take full responsibility to the beef that has happened in this thread. i understand human beings and life is great when we get along. as many may comment or criticize these words, grammar,, and or speling i chose or about to choose, i don't give three f*cks about it... nah, jk, dude, haha :D. anyhow, i did not intend to edify that canyon riding meant canyon carving aka togue, riding fast on canyons, or what-so-ever words or phrases one can describe or make a meaning out of the title i have entailed or indicated on this thread. i don't togue unless i'm at HTM (horse thief mile) in willow springs, damn, i love streets of willow too, anyways, that's another thread... the fact of the matter is, i'm 420 friendly (what's crack'eeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEn'? ) and when i thought of the title for this thread..., i wasn't, haha; that was the first thing that came to my thoughts just like what i'm typing right now... what i shoulda woulda coulda, so this whole mess would not have had happen is wrote this as a title, "Canyon Cruising This Weekend?" which is what abigballafb76 and I did last Saturday at green valley Ojai, CA, good times good times, bro...

one love to all human beings, peace
