negative the car does not run... engine.. I think is dead there was no oil in it!! the clutch is stock to the floor and the seats arent so bad but he will not let go for less!!

So the engine didn't start? did it turn over? You say the clutch was what to the floor? Do you mean the clutch pedal just sat against the floor? And he won't sell a beat up non-running 318is shell for less than a grand??? either these cars have gone waaaaaay up in value, or this dude is in for a humbling surprise.

Ok so the clutch pedal is stuck to the floor it won't be raised even by force... the engine didn't turn... story straight the guy didn't know he said... he towed the car from downtown as his step son drove it he even put a battery so I would be sure the car started but once I saw no oil I was sad...

wait what.... slow down and repeat that last part more legibly.... So the guy honestly didn't know that it doesn't run? He towed it from downtown, does that mean he bout it originally that way? What do you mean his stepson drove it if it was towed? And he put a battery in so you would be sure of what?

So if the engine didn't turn but it has a good battery, than the engine is seized i am assuming?

Yeah my bad I was drivin an trying to type.. yes they let his step son drive it then I guess the clutch busted which I see it that the engine seized, but he put on a battery so we would see it started but then it didn't... the guy seemed mad when the engine wouldn't turn.. so over all the car is DEAD no go..

ha ha that sucks man!! yeah man don't type and drive! That's worse than drinking and driving!! you are crazy though, being on R3V even when you are in your E30!! ha ha

Yeah that dude is never going to get $1000 for a rolling shell that has crap paint and dents.... We'll give it some time, the price will drop. If the car is in good shape otherwise, as in no structural rust, good interior, etc, I may be convinced to fork over $400 or so. Finding a good M42 drivetrain can be tough though, they are alot less common than the M20, as the M20 existed from '87-'91, and the M42 only '90-'91.

True that man. Its very hard to come across one in good condition an yes I was in the e30 driving in downtown ha ha... its not too bad shape besides the hit on that passanger side and faded paint. I been wanting an alpine or swartz !!!! But not in that condition

I think the only way I can really justify buying this shell is if i was nearing an S50 swap in my Alpine, so that way I can just flop my M42 drivetrain from my alpine into this shell and sell it off as a good running 318is, as it will be easier (and more profitable) to sell an entire car rather than just a drivetrain.

HOWEVER, now that I have a garage..... heh heh heh (diabolical chuckling)
