For DD only? If it's just DD and you're stiffening the suspension, splurge on rubber. Look at what Michelin offers, they ride the best pretty much. If there's any chance this car will see the track, look elsewhere I'd say.... But I figure you're probably DD'ing the e30 and tracking the coupe... Which would also mean it's pointless to add aftermarket parts to a DD.... Car people.... we're dumb.

It will be DD, but would like it set up for the occasional rallying - peak to peak, canyon runs, etc. I've had great opinions of the Michelin PS2's and Star Specs, but they would be over kill.

Star Specs would most definitely be way over kill for DD... Michelin usually offers the nicest ride which is why I mentioned them, and they should be fine for canyon runs and stuff as long as you're not too crazy... You're on the streets still anyway so I imagine it wouldn't be too nuts.... If it's 90% DD, I'd go on Tire Rack's site and start looking up Michelins or highly suggested commuter tires and see what people are saying.

I thought about the Mich Pilot All Seasons, but the overwhelming opinion I've read and heard is that all seasons are good at nothing.

I spent some time on TireRack last night. There were some Hancook's for around $80 a tire that looked good.

If they're going to be year round / DD then get all-seasons... Summer tires won't get you anywhere in the winter... All-seasons won't be TONS better, but they will be better. I've used all seasons for 2 winters now without issue. They're not optimal, but I get from point A to B without hitting things. If you're going to be buying some studded snows / regular snows, then just get some nice weather DD tires and swap to the snows later.

So will you be running your BBS wheels on the DD? if so, don't even bother w/ all seasons, just get performance summer tires, and have a set of b-caps/studded snows dedicated for winter driving.

Yeah, or buy a set of used winter setup (I think there are a few out there right now)

Yeah, I should have mentioned they are for the BBS's. I've got snows on the bottle caps that Ill use in the winter. It's funny, but I've never shopped for a "normal" car tire before. For the M Coupe it was always max performance for the buck, for the Tacoma it was always best off road / street compromise, for the Midget it was what would fit.

What tire size are you looking for?

Why do you not want the KDWs anymore?

totally. yeah don't even bother with all-seasons. get some decent cheap summer tire with good wear and call it a day. No use burning up expensive track rubber just driving to work and back.

Normally I'd recommend Falken Azenis, but their recent update has them as expensive as the Star Specs.

Try the Hankook RS3 or Kumho XS?

I still recommend BFG G-force sports. Cheap, good, decent treadwear, etc.
