Let's play a game. Its called find out what's clunking in Ben's car. If anyone sees me, ask for a ride, if you can help diagnose this bastard noise, you win a 6-pack or something. I'm so tired of this clunk.

Front right, noise was present before and after removal and rebuild of strut. Smooth road is no big deal, some smooth tranitions in the road are no big deal, turning is no big deal under normal / smooth roads. Sharp bumps make the clunk and it's only really the right front. Sounds kind of like the strut bottoming out but I don't think that's it.... I dunno....

Could be the bearing on the camber plate, swaybar endlink, or one of your balljoints.

It's an adjustable endlink from GC, I thought about it too. It was a pain putting it back together, I think I need to lengthen the endlink but not 100%....

That's your clunk. I almost guarantee it. Those f*ckers clunk like no other. Disconnect one side, drive around. If the noise goes away, that's your problem.

Interesting test method. I figured it'd be you or Chris responding anyway ;) lol.... It's adjustable length, so if I disconnect and clunk disappears... Lengthen it?

i'd say check ball joints first.

If it disappears when its disconnected, it could just be outright shot. They *are* very noisy endlinks in the first place.

I will put money on the end link.

The driver side's never made a peep... The pass side was a PAIN to bolt back together after strut rebuild. Like, if I had lengthened the endlink it would have gone smoother, I went with another method though.... I don't wanna upset the car or anything bye having mismatched length endlinks (if that would upset the car?). Also, if it's JUST the endlink (after disconnect test) do I need to replace or are noisy endlinks just that, noisy..... Cause I don't wanna find out that something expensive eventually fails beacuse of this noise

Did you only have one side of the car jacked up by chance?

                              when you swapped the strut

If it is the endlink having the clunk wont hurt anything. It is usually the ball joint in the links that go bad and start moving around. You will be fine driving around on them until you get annoyed and fix them.

Having them off lengths right/left a little bit isn't the biggest deal but it won't be "ideal". You can do fun things with preload adjustments with sway bars by changing the lengths if you really want.

Also, my suspension doesn't clunk, hehe. I can just trade with your "clunky" one!
