Glad to hear it's back on the road!
Now I feel less like a douche......Leave a comment:

Better safe than sorry, get the alignment. Unless you wanna take the chance of it being off and eating through tires.Leave a comment:

Hood latch has been finicky since I bought the car.. It was one of those "it works now, I'll worry about it if it breaks" kinda thing... I know how to open the hood without the handle, so if I can't get it to work, I can at least get into the engine bay still. I was hoping to do 2 jacks, one on each side... I can explain in person or somehting, tired now, need shower... played basketball... Shoot me a text some time though so I can bring your stuff to you.
Get an alignment I say.. I think it's worth the one time $50 or whatever so you don't eat through tires like crazy and have to replace them (more expensive) on a more than regular basis....how important is an alignment after doing a tie rod/ control arm replacement on my ix?
We eyeballed it to approximately the same length and now there is no wobble in my front wheels but how long until they could be negative affects of not aligning it after this switch?
oh and my brake lining light came on right after this get together, so it looks like i need some new brake pads. too bad I couldn't make it anyway...Leave a comment:

Good to hear she is back running strong and off her period, I hate it when they are leaking ;)
How long has the hood latch thing been going on? It isn't just an alignment issue in the latch or the guides?
and why did you need another floor jack?Leave a comment:

Oooooo, Yeah... I want one in as best shape as possible since it's cheap for a brand new one... I still dunno the problem, but it's been getting harder and harder to pull...Leave a comment:

It's all good, I know how to get it open without using the latch in the cabin.. I'm hoping I can adjust the hood at the front pivots just a tad and it'll click into place and be solid... If not, the new hood mechanism and such is like $26 from PelicanLeave a comment:

Gasket was ripped in two places. I went back and checked the belt since I was so close, and it was off. There's a specific way to install and we didn't do it. Lined it all up and installed according to the Bentley and that DIY thread, started up and ran, no bogging. Put the rest of the car together and she still ran, no leaks. I removed the hood, help immensely...
After getting it running, and taking a trip to Boulder for a burrito with David, I came home and put the hood back on. Closed it, decided it needed to be adjusted just a tad and it wouldn't open.... The cable was getting loose / stretched anyway and I knew it was going to break or stop working eventually... I can put a ton of pulling force on it, but it doesn't release the hood... I'll see whats up, maybe I can adjust it... If not I'll order a new hood mechanism from Pelican, as well as plugs, cap, and rotor.
I talked to David about it, but after an ignition revamp... I just need to install my brake stuff and the car is like 95% refreshed...Leave a comment:
