did you try to re-use an old manifold gasket or what?

    Comment

there are two guide pins for the lower intake manifold, and since the car got a new cylinder head, there were two sets of guide pins. so basically when I torqued it down it never sat perfectly flush. atleast the m42 is a breeze to take the intake off. definitely twice as easy as m20. I re-used both gaskets on re-assembly for the time being

You guys think a 325E exhaust from the manifolds back will fit in my iX? It's a two piece exhaust IIRC, but still, i'm thinking i'll need a truck to move it from Ryans to my place... Thoughts?

ETA exhaust will be more restrictive than an "i" exhaust, but it will bolt up and function. Seems like you'd be downgrading, but I digress.

That made me chuckle, i'm only really using the eta downpipe portion for my 2002. Steering Idler Arm is RIGHT below where my manifolds dump out, figure i'll see what I can do with the Eta exhaust for mockup. I just need to get past the idler arm then have an exhaust shop fab up the rest of the exhaust.

Do you think an eta exhaust could be transported from one house to another inside the cabin or trunk of my E30 or E46. I have a truck I can barrow but if I can handle it myself that'd be ideal. I'm hoping if I disconnect the front half of the exhaust from rear half I may be able to get it home in the E30 or 46. Thoughts? lol

Reading comprehension fails me today...I thought you meant to literally install it on your 325ix

Yeah, if you unbolt it, you can make it fit, no problem. Bring lots of old shitty blankets and towels, etc. Seems like it would be a good fit for your '02.

Just what I wanted to hear!!! Thanks buddy, yeah, i'm excited.

Should be able to pull it out of the garage for an "around the block" trip next weekend. Just waiting on a m10x1.0 male to male fitting to get the E30 clutch cable/Slave Cyl attached to the 2002 Clutch Master cylinder. Than I can bleed the hydraulics and theoretically drive it a bit!!

that's ironic lol. i was just over there last night to pick up a G260 and saw it laying around. I know you have a luke box so you can stick it thru there...but I have a roof rack you could borrow as well, if you wanna go that route.

Hell ya! not sure how much of a pain it would be for you to remove the lukebox though haha.

Apparently you just pull up on the handle and it heats up the door lock for a length of time dependant on the outside temperature.
